You are right! My students ARE strange creatures. They can never figure out how to fold up the ironing board, which baffles me every time.

Ironing boards are tricky. I haven't tried to set one up or take one down in quite a long time, but I remember it being tricky. (I bought an ironing board some time in the last year, but I haven't unwrapped it yet, much less set it up)

I put up an ironing board maybe once every five years, and it usually takes me a while to remember what to push.

Do you guys physically force it closed with brute strength, so that it breaks the ironing board. After you somehow have opened it without breaking it. Because that has happened more than once.
But I guess I am an outlier, because a) when I was a kid I enjoyed ironing and pretended I was Laura Ingalls and b) I open an ironing board constantly in my job.
