Yay 5K and capes!

I got up and did yoga, and met some new folks and had brunch with them. Now I am sore and tired, but it's SUCH a pretty day out...I feel I should enjoy it.

Go, Teppy!

The diabetic counselor said I could have a little bit of Quick (1 tsp instead of the 2 tbs serving size) in my milk for an afternoon snack. It is not a milkshake, but it may keep me from losing my mind in the next 4 months.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Whir it in the blender, sj, it will froth it up and make it fancy. Dust it with a little instant coffee powder--decaf if you're off caffeine--instant mocha almost-milkshake! You might want to try nonfat dry milk, Quik powder or an unsweetened cocoa powder--we use Dagoba. Do check, though, that cocoa is allowed, for the caffeine, etc. Blend the powders with a little ice water and a few ice cubes, dust with powdered cinnamon or coffee, and it comes out frothy and delicious and like a sinful treat.

Oops, I didn't mean to post in Natter, not that it matters.

I did use the Quik powder, and it tasted good even with using such a small amount. My ability to taste sweetness seems to be heightened since I am eating so few sweet things. A blender just feels like too much work and clean up at the moment. I am incredibly lazy and tired lately.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Remember how I said I was looking forward to seeing the people? That was obviously a huge mistake. People everywhere!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I thought I was doing 'eh' for fares this week, but I should get paid at least $600 this week. So that's a bit of a relief.

brillig

Paid off my eye surgeries! About $3500 out of pocket for both eyes, with $1600 being the cool anti-astigmatism lenses which make it so I don't need glasses.

Brava Theo and Connie!

And yay, Steph! Way to rock on with your bad self.

I had a nice run in the hills this morning, saw some quail, only walked once. But I have to figure out how to keep up my running. My regular exercise partner is my sister, and for the last seven years we've run together at 6AM twice a week and 8AM on Sundays. But she just found out she has arthritis behind her meniscus, and shouldn't run more than once a week, and only on the flat.

Which really sucks for her, but also for me. I neeeeed to run. And I had outsourced my discipline to this regular meetup. Gotta figure out another way to get myself to run on the days I don't walk with her....

Go Steph! Yay financial adulting, Connie!

I powerwashed my deck! Well, Anna and I did. Her deck too. Took us 3 hrs. The wood is no longer grey! It's really amazing. And no more green on the composite surface. So much Lighter! Now I want to do the outside facing wood, but not this weekend. It'll require a ladder. Sunscreen utterly failed in spots. I think there was too much sweat, water spray and deck cleaner in the mix.

Also, cemented my reputation as somewhat perfectionist detail oriented. Anna was laughing at me. It took me about 3x as long as her. And while my surfaces are lighter than hers, hers also have 5 years on mine, so will be darker. I got Brian's seal of approval (he who sweeps the sidewalks so clean when we do leaves, you could eat off of them.)

Made 12 more jar lights. I have 6 more to go. Got a better glue gun.

Pumpkin got out without me seeing today. Didn't go far, but dear god, she's a wiley one to catch. I was chasing her under cars. Bad kitty!

Theo, are you getting psyched for Monday? My massage therapist was saying she's started driving some, and wasn't going to do it Monday until she got a message from them guaranteeing some crazy amount of dough.
