I didn't punch anyone in the throat today but I am cc-ing the boss every time I answer one of his useless emails. My assistant is amused.

I've been the answerer (?) to a mass email with a deadline response, because the top two dogs haven't responded. Twice I've responded with my own perspective hoping it would prompt a correction from the ruling authorities, or a confirmation. Nothing. And if I hadn't responded, there'd have been no response. I'm embarrassed by my superiors. Our colleague is emailing us on her vacation to confirm this shit. Please have the decency to respond. It wasn't hard -even I could do it!

It took 10 hrs (just today *) with all of us sitting around a conference table on our laptops, but by god, we got single-sign-on installed.

Of course, we went live at COB, so the real waves of users trying to use it will happen tomorrow.

I'm completely fried. At some point, I declared that if we ever did X again, I'm leading the mutiny. To which my boss replied "You're always leading the mutiny. OH! You've been complaining about the limitations of the old system since you got here. So technically, this is all your fault." At which point I was pelted with grapes.

We're all kinda worn out. I'm pretty sure our civility & harassment committees would have frowned on much of our conduct today...

Aurelia I feel your pain. I'm dealing with a cast and band where demanding and entitled doesn't even begin to cover it.

Not behind me. We're having hiccups. I'm now up to 11.5 hrs. But I can't do anymore.

I still have to file city taxes, which seem more gouge-y than federal and state taxes, in that there is no personal deduction/exemption, etc., and it's not based on your federal AGI. It's just a flat tax on your gross wages. (IOW, I owe more to the city than I did to the state because the state has deductions and exemptions. It just seems weird that the city taxes end up being higher.)

(And I value what my taxes pay for; I'm not bitching about having to pay taxes. I'm just surprised by the tax structure.)

Really stopping checking email now. Some mop up to do, some our fault, some stupid users.

I'm eating any and all leftover fruit tomorrow.
