I usually hear someone calling my name, like they are trying to get my attention.
I feel like I've been hearing about that phenomenon all over the place lately! Huh.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I had that happen once. I heard my mother's voice, clear as if she was standing there, call my name from across the room. I was fully awake (and sober), and my mom was entirely alive at that time. I called home and asked if she was okay, because maybe premonition, and she was fine. Just random weird neuron firing.
Argh. I am all off-kilter today, which I'm going to blame for me once again leaving my phone at home. I hate not having my external brain handy!
ETA: Oh, crap, and I'm expecting a call! I'd better go home and get it.
Morning report - CJ came home and finally went to his room. First response, with a huge smile on his face, "I hate you". Then he dived under the pile and wiggled his way around his room. I kept expecting him to pop up here and there saying "Bazinga".
Love the balloon surprise!
Me too! What a great surprise. How did he respond?
So glad he liked it!
So cute, Suzi!
ION, after watching my mother spend $700 on lenses over the weekend -- frames were extra! -- I now want to buy several pairs of Warby Parker glasses. Because now I know how much I'm saving by not having bifocals....
I just got 3 pairs of glasses from Zenni for $35.00 total.
I should definitely check them out again!
Zenni and Coastal are both good. Mine cost more like $90 because my prescription is so strong, but that still beats $700 at the optometrist's office.
I knew someone once who had hypnagogic hallucinations. She'd see strange things right before she fell asleep, or right as she was waking up.
I have hypnagogic visual hallucinations all the time. Usually they involve someone looming over me meaning to cause me harm. They are not awesome as they frequently make me scream in terror. Fun for me and anyone sleeping with (aka my husband) or near me (my neighbors, friends we are staying with). I haven't really figured out what makes them worse or better. I've tried some different relaxation techniques but nothing really helps. A few times I've woken up not only screaming but throwing punches. Fun!
(Hypnagogic are ones that happen as you are falling asleep. Hypnopompic are ones that occur on waking up.)
Anyway, didn't have one last night sleeping in super dark comfy hotel room. Maybe we should sell our house and just live out of Kimpton hotels?
