"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Whenever I get fleeting hallucinations (weekly now) I have that flash of an unsettled moment when I remember the gremliny things from Dead Like Me and I begin to wonder if I am dying.

But I have issues.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I recall thinking that both Starsky and Hutch were really good-looking. Actually, I still think they were.

I think they were/are, but Soul clearly had no topless anxiety, nor issues with his bad posture.

I don't try and judge them against today's action heroes in regards to their bodies, just in physicality. No, that's opaque. In regards to how they move, etc.

Bodies I judge against a random half of the krav instructors in my group. Because Jared Padalecki and his ilk. I figure some of us trained for vanity, some just had the bodies fighting gave us--I figured the selection would be fair.

Anyone watched (HEARD OF) SAF3? I was channel surfing, and stumbled upon Baywatch/that Canadian LA soap from two years back. Given today I've already seen Congeniality 2 and the first fifteen minutes of Spy Kids 3, what have I done wrong? Did I touch Sturgeon's cursed artefact?

I suspect that the percentage of crap out there is high enough that a random sampling will get you a streak like that without resorting to supernatural forces.

Not that that is particularly reassuring. Maybe it's some sort of harmonic convergence.

It's the depth of the crap that's astounding me. Someone hit enter three times on projects whose quality rival the depth of Sy Fy movies in three unrelated buckets. I mean, if you'd seen the flounce-acting of SAF3 (that's why I stopped on it, to see if she was really flouncing and bouncing at the end of each line, and then the show just kept getting worse), not to mention the falloff in quality from Congeniality 1-2 was so oustripped by Spy Kids 1-3.

I've channelsurfed before. But today was traumatic. And I can't stop myself.

I have no ready explanation for that. But I will think about it.

Connie Willis might have an explanation. Her short story in a Rogues isn't about exactly that, but I bet she's thought about it.

Hallucinations: auditory hallucinations trouble me much more than visual. And olfactory, so hard to verify. Never seems to be fudge, at least since Warehouse13 made me particularly aware of the possibility.

Oh, hey, 45th anniversary of the moon landing. My phone informs me.

21st century, man.

Does anyone else get family IT support questions whose answer is "click on retrieve password"? I don't see how telling me "I don't know my password, though." is supposed to engender anything positive from me.

Sometimes the repetitive learned helplessness irritates me enough that it stresses me into more pain. I am short coping mechanisms.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

BTW, thanks to whoever recommended Nasacort - Hil? It's made a huge difference. I don't have to take antihistamines as much anymore and I sleep better.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

My son is now officially 18. He is house sitting, so I'd planned on staying up to midnight to call/text him. Around 10pm, he showed up here just to spend a little time with me before heading back. Still texted him at midnight.

When he showed up, I was kinda afraid he would go in his room. It is currently filled with about 225 balloons (about 3 feet deep). Was hoping to save that surprise until the morning when he comes for breakfast. And for whatever reason, he never did go to his room. Mwah-ha-ha!
