He's so stressed, the office energy is not great. None of it is toward me, but still.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.
When Calvin Trillin was covering the Civil Rights movement in the South, on occasion local Jews realized he would be the 10th man in the area and hastily put together a service.
Somebody explain this to me? Ten Jewish men in the same area triggers the Apocalypse unless they do a service? (Probably not, but that's the first thing I thought of.)

It is kind of just annoying at this point, but trying to be more mindful of self-care, I think something to counteract it is in order. There is just no balancing energy at the moment. If it was more directed at me at work, that would be worse, but would also be pushing me into action which I am actually better at.

There are certain prayers and services that can only be said as a community, rather than as individual people, and ten men is what's considered necessary to count as doing it as a community. (Or, it was then. Non-Orthodox Jewish groups now will count women in the ten.)
