Happy Birthday Tom!
Happy Birthday Tom!
Happy Birthday Tom!
I managed to order a new computer last night. I consented to them sending me a survey, not for the potential to win an iPad mini, but so I could inform them of how terrible the ordering experience was.
For my birthday, I get Hillary Clinton! Who will be in my neighborhood a whole lot.
Neat. Will she be Mom Dancing like Michelle Obama? Cuz I'd like to see that.
There have been rumors that the Obamas want to move to Brooklyn in 2017.
So, the last six or eight months have been pretty shitty, work-wise. Some horrid people entering my sphere and getting everything all fucked up and crazy and then blaming me far and wide for some resulting dropped balls. I mean, it wasn't all her, I did miss a few steps. And all of this coinciding with new leadership coming on board at the boss and grandboss level. Plus my job has changed, in a good way, but in a way that means I'm now responsible for some shit that I really don't know how to do. (Marketing plan, what??)
So anyway we had two days of meetings this week with my boss Heather and her leadership team (inc. me) and a facilitator to plan out how the new org is going to work.
So this practically had me in tears this morning:
Email from Boss: "Said this once, but I’d like to say it again – I think your leadership and voice over the last few days was incredibly powerful. I see more and more how and why you are a “leader among leaders”… it was energizing to see you in action! Keep it up,
Email from Grandboss: Agreed. Brenda - it was soooo lovely to hear you make the toast at RPM. And alan dropped me a note to let me know that he was very impressed with your leadership, passion and general knowledge. Thanks for embodying the team values and stepping up to be such a great partner to heather. I look forward to many continued conversations as our journey is just beginning!
So, also, I apparently like the word so.
