Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I think that Germanwings thing is pretty much everybody's nightmare about flying.

I've joined a bunch of Meetups recently. I have yet to go to anything, but I've RSVP'd on a number of book discussions, a trip to the local botanical garden, an apple picking trip in September. I'm sure I'll find more to go to, it's really a bit of a crap shoot. I'm just having a hard time finding a board game group that plays anything I've ever heard of, even from billytea. The only scrabble group I could find was a group set up for older women (retired) that meets during the daytime. Bummer.

Today bites. Lost a bunch of work and am trying to rebuild it. I feel like no one is answering me. Blinvisible Suzi, that is me. I haven't heard anything on the appraisal being scheduled and I've asked my realtor for some HOA documents that were missing.

I see you, Suzi!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'm just having a hard time finding a board game group that plays anything I've ever heard of

I've played a bunch of games I never heard of before. Most of them I've liked. Stay away from the Firefly board game, though, it's a hot mess.

Playing board games is getting me over my tendency to always be nice. I attack castles, assassinate monks, and starve workers in the pursuit of gold! mwahaha POWER

Thanks msbelle. Rebuilding this workbook is breaking my brain. I'm past my usual COB for the day but I feel like I should keep going to get to at least the point where I lost all the work. Snarl.

I have a cake to bake, fondant to mess with, and a house to clean.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Tomorrow night we're going to the live "Welcome to Night Vale" show. (Gary's been following the podcast.) Saturday we're daytripping (Re)Generation Who.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

My limited experience with board game people is that they LOVE to teach their favorite game(s) to newbies. And there are a lot of games out there that I had never heard of but ended up loving. (I still don't understand Carcasonne at all. And I'm a little unsure of how I won Settlers of Catan.)

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I just saw someone, merging onto the freeway, cut off a county constable, who then abandoned his plan to exit in favor of pulling over the jerk. it was glorious.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

(I still don't understand Carcasonne at all. And I'm a little unsure of how I won Settlers of Catan.)

There's an app for Carcassonne you can get. It's not my favourite game, but the interface for this app is fantastic.
