Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Ugh, Sara. I'm sorry. My deepest condolences to your stylist. And no, not weird at all.

Hil, this probably falls under the same ordinance as having a dumpster temporarily in place. Why don't you just call the borough office and ask what the policy is and if there's a fee to be paid? The aggravation will surely outweigh the inconvenience of moving to a storage unit, and then having another set of movers move it again when you find a job.

Strix, good news! Her house of cards is starting to crumble.

I'm sorry, Scrappy. Memories can be tough too.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'm sorry, Scrappy. He sounds like a very smart, interesting man. You do seem to be attracted to that combination.

High probability of baby goats tomorrow.

My favorite sort of weather report!

Sue, have it checked out. Ever since my pregnancies, coughs have a bad habit of moving in for a few months once they've established themselves, so now I give them the boot early. Not exactly bronchitis, 'tho, because I don't need antibiotics to get rid of the cough, but I do need to use an inhaler for a few weeks.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Scrappy, sorry to hear about your old boyfriend.

To all the gross weather suffers, I empathize (Midwest girl.)

Maria, indeed. IN. VERY. DEED.

Weird query: To lawyers, ex-lawyers, friends of lawyers, etc: Do they hate it or love when when clients do their own research on legalities and statutes and draw up materials, and are insanely organized?

I have this need to educate myself, and also, hey -- I'd love to reduce billable hours. He already told us there's a form we can file ourselves in certain situations if ex acts up re: getting in the ways of Kiddo visits/access, and since I used to file Orders of Protection for DV clients, and when I wrote my own contract for my biz, and a (ahem) legal friend proofed it and made only a couple of minor changes, I feel pretty confident about understanding and rough drafting legalese.

Yea or nay?

Also? GOOD MORNING, FRIENDS!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I hear you. I think I had PTSD this year from *last* winter.

Today though, it is beautiful out, if chilly. (Perhaps especially since the dog park this morning was me and the three hottest guys in the neighborhood. Good thing I brushed my hair.)

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Sue, after a month, if you have not seen a doc, please do. You well past the window for ordinary coughnlingering after a cold.

Ooh, fun! The last week I was taking long walks with my coworker/neighbor, to get some steps in since we were working from home. And two days in a row ran into exes of mine. Sadly, the day it was at the END of the walk was the cuter ex. ;(

I want to pet goats!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Strix, depends on the lawyer. But I think most family law lawyers are familiar with the issue of keeping the hours down. A friend of mine once cut a deal with her lawyer, to do a lot of the research into the same issues you're dealing with. The lawyer saved time and Cheryl saved money.

Thanks, Suela! I'll mention that to him, because I can research like crazy, and any databases I can't get into or my sister the PT college librarian can't get into, I have a TON of librarian friends who could probably hook me up.

I was the Court Liaison for two DV shelters, so I'm not afraid of getting to the courthouse and asking questions till I get the right procedure down, F2F, either.

God, what would I -- ANY of us -- do without Buffistas?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Ahahaha, on Good Stuff Happened Today, the toddler who's crying when he met the sanitation workers -- he lives in my neighborhood! We know his dad (mostly as a nodding acquaintance, but still).

I saw that somewhere else a few days ago. So cute! And I love that the sanitation workers take the time to entertain the kid every day when they see him watching from the window.
