Timelies all!
Seanan is indeed prolific. She posts a monthly list of what she's working on(just novels) and between that and her monthly "what's coming out when" post I'm tired for her.
Tomorrow night we're going to see Pentatonix in concert. Whee!
At this time of day I like to pull up the local news traffic website and watch the usual location suspects start changing color.
Today's adventures in home purchasing. Had the inspection which didn't turn up anything too crazy. The AC unit is original from 1982 and should have quit a while ago but is still working fine. And the water heater is from 1997 so that is on the edge. We are going to ask the seller for a home warranty but if she says no, I'll buy my own.
So speak to me of home warranties.
I also got a couple of quotes for car and home insurance. My current company had a lower home owners policy cost but my second quote is quadrupling my vehicle coverage, increasing my home coverage and still will cost less overall. Bizarre. It really does pay to get multiple quotes.
That sounds like an intriguing way to blow some staycation money, Gris! Autocorrect wanted that to be starvation money. Which...would be a whole other concept.
Ugh, came home from my first nice dinner out all week to discover one of my cats barfed up all over my kitchen floor and the rug behind my desk. Will be buying some Shout! tomorrow, but I don't want to give up my cushy parking space tonight.
If it's really colorful and dry, scrape up and water and vinegar to keep from setting on the rug, but it won't really stain worse than already, so it can wait.
Next few weeks might kill me. And that's with a couple mandatory vacation days thrown in (which honestly don't help.)
Well our buses aren't running until at least noon tomorrow, and I am
not
walking over an hour to get to work, so I will be home again.
Oz has had a great day, He got some bacon for breakfast and has moved from chair to cat bed to couch napping all day.
It turns out that vanilla ice cream, blueberry preserves, and some cinnamon is a really tasty dessert.
Oh, that sounds nummy, shift.
Reading through my inspection report and got to the plumbing section. I have to say I was happy to see that I have copper pipes. Not that I know anything about pipes other than Buffy flipping out over a FULL. COPPER. REPIPE.
Suzi, I don't think I said it before but congratulations! I'm so happy for all of you!
sarameg and I swear by our home warranties. My premium is $540 for the year, which was no change from the premium the sellers paid the year prior. I saved that much and more in three calls last year. This year? I pulled the trigger too early and ended up paying my $75 trade fee for a $20 water supply line repair on my master bath toilet. In my defense it was leaking below the shutoff valve so I thought it was a bigger problem than it turned out to be. My house is 115 years old and I'm more comfortable keeping the coverage. Pay very close attention to the coverages and add-ons. The basic plans cover almost nothing. I have American Home Shield and I've been very happy with them. I can request service online and I get a call back from the provider in 24 hours or less to schedule the appointment if it's not an emergency.
