Zoe: Yeah? Thought you'd get land crazy that long in port. Wash: Probably, but I've been sane a long while now, and change is good.

Ugh. I hear that pain and annoyance, flea. So much.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Call him, flea. He is not in a business where he can ignore deadlines.

Personal peeve: people who don't answer emails because they're "so busy right now" and "I'll get to it!" The person who's waiting for your response doesn't know if you're working on it, or if you've not bothered to check your email today, or if you're suddenly in the hospital. At the very least, write back and say, "I'm working on it, I'm aware of the deadline, I'll have it to you in time." Communicate, you fuckers.

I've been checking my credit report because of a security breach at my insurance provider. I managed to get credit reports from Experian and TransUnion easily, and nothing looks amiss. Equifax, on the other hand, is trying to verify my identity with challenge questions that I can't answer because they don't apply to me, and I'm unable to get a free credit report from them without mailing them forms and a wackton of documentation.

How concerned should I be?

Seriously. I ran into this at the start of my hunt and had one real estate agent get miffed that I had gone with someone else because I hadn't heard back from her within 48 hours from when she was given my information (referred by a friend). Sorry - too hot a market to not have an agent not be on the ball.

OTOH, the loan officer that was referred by Nanita's cousin - rocks. I know we are only part way through the process, but she has been very responsive, informative, and just plain helpful.

Not sure if I mentioned it here, but the deciding factor for the seller choosing our house? A letter. I wrote a letter based on the suggestion of both the loan officer and my realtor. Just about me and what I liked about the house and how I saw my family fitting into it.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I made Guinness brownies to take to trivia, but chemo has screwed up my sense of taste so badly that I can't tell if they're any good.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I'd be happy to sample for you, Ginger. Curse this continent width and lack of teleporter!

H just helped me with one of those boil and fit nightguard thingies. I couldn't get it in my mouth until we'd removed about half the thickness. I have small teeth, and I couldn't close my upper lip over it because it was so high it was hitting that little connector between lip and gum. An hour of cutting, smoothing, reheating, paring, carving, reheating, smoothing, and finally! It fits! I'm used to a bulletproof lexan biteplate that I've managed to chew a hole in and snap the end off of, grinding my teeth at night.

This one is going to be fun. I give it two months before I've chewed it to shreds in my sleep. squeaka squeaka squeaka squeaka!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I don't know--I know the kids have pushed this option a LOT. Did I mention my SiL (who lives next door) is a nurse? My FiL is a good guy, but he is also a big baby who wants what he wants and has no willpower. It's on him for sure, but I've been there and she will make all these fattening, calorie-filled dishes every night. She won't stop buying cookies and candy either "for guests."

meara, I'm reading the latest InCryptid, too.

Update on The Telenovela de Strixy --

Heh -- DH is not communicating with Ex until he has his lawyer look at this promissory note for a settlement she wants him to sign (all mixed up with house mess) and since today, she's put his texts on blast and he's (finally) simply just replied "I can't talk about it until my lawyer checks this out tomorrow," she told him she contacted the mediator. Any judge will look at her like she's crazy if she litigates because DH wanted his lawyer, who was out of town until tomorrow, to look over a LEGAL FINANCIAL DOCUMENT before signing it.

AND -- Um. The mediator only deals with child issues. This is a PROPERTY issue. Empty threat, and NOT. SMART. She's panicking because DH is not backing down anymore and although I am trying to be all Zen with most of my life, I AM LMFAO because? Karma? It's a bitch. She tries to mess around with anything having to do with The Kiddo, and we have enough evidence of violations, including technically legal kidnapping TWICE, to nail her ass to the wall.

She backed down and sent a counteroffer to the realtor, so we MIGHT still be selling the house. But DH is finally going all War Doctor, and it. is. SWEET.
