I'm sort of around. Trying to finish up a chapter before bed, but falling prey to distraction.

I'm aroundish. Reading the latest InCryptid novel when I should be going to sleep. But I'm only halfway through and I woke up very early this morning so may fail soon. Sorry you're getting to know one of the crappy parts about time zones!
What kind of distraction do you want?
Here is an article about the Metropolitan Museum of Art putting zillions of works of art on the intertubes for all and sundry [link] The idea seems familiar, perhaps it has already been brought up here.
meara, I just put those on my "keep an eye out for at the used bookstore" list, since people keep talking about them.
Thanks, guys. I don't know, I don't have a good topic for conversation at the moment. Once I finish dinner I may try closing the laptop and reading for a while.
I find that sometimes, turning off the wifi helps.
Though that's just when I'm attempting to be productive.
I think I'm not that desperate. Yet, at least.
ION I've been exploring My Fitness Pal's app. Very nice for tracking food (helps me with mindful eating, if I stop to think about what I've been eating long enough to note it down). One thing the website can do that I haven't figured out how to do on the app is putting in all the ingredients of a recipe and letting it do the math on calories per serving. This comes in handy at work, where there is someone whose doctor and parents want very much to lose weight. Months of changes to how we plan the menus at that house have not yeilded any weight loss for that person (but the person who is already a bit thin IS losing weight). So the powers that be have lowered the boom and giving a fairly strict calorie restriction. I'm doing the best I can to steer the menus to what I consider healthy (boatloads of veggies to start with). And thank heavens Aldi started accepting credit cards because if we couldn't do the shopping there, I don't see how we'd manage the grocery budget there.
Huh. I hit post before I finished my thoughts. To show we are complying with the doctor and dietician's orders, we are tracking this person's caloric intake. Me? I don't know how successful it will be, given the person's health history. But we'll be able to show that we did what we are suppsed to do. And it was very reassuring to have the dietician comb through the menus I've designed and say they are on the right track.
Covering one's ass is at times a worthwhile consideration.
