Ex sounds like a nightmare, Strix. She needs some kind of psychic containment field.
I just got a kind of exciting assignment -- not often do the fundraisers have a key time-sensitive role!
Groovy!

Sophia, might the problem be with the charging cable, not the phone itself? I've found those cables get a bit wonky after a while.
sj, I'll remember that! ;)

Agreed, Burrell...although your plans is much more...pacific than mine, shall we say? Celt blood will out...
Strix, I'll pony up $ for a lawyer fund and/or a RAMPAGE fund. Whatever you need; the money's not earmarked.
The satisfaction of the tale of Dan getting a little of his own back from the nasty ex would be a definite perk of contributing to a Kickstarter fund.
ETA: Also, photos of the ex's face when the reality hits her that she is not going to get everything her way. That would be a good perk.

Yeah, same.
Strix, I'm sorry you had a rough weekend and sorry Dan's Ex is a whirling psychobitch, but:
If I have start a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for legal fee, D is finally ready to fight, and he's finally letting be untie my hands and do what I do best.
FUCK YES. If you Kickstarter that shit, I will joyfully contribute to that fight. Good on Dan for standing up to her!
Celt blood will out...
Celtic high five! (Put the battleaxe in the other hand first.)
So I just had to tell my staff member I'm promoting that we can't give her as much money as she thinks she should get. I appreciate her moxie, but I don't think my boss will, and don't even want to bring it to her. Ugh! She [my boss] already thought the jump we were offering might be too big, which I strenuously objected to. I hate being in the middle -- if the salary budget were my budget, I would feel some control over what I was offering and how I wanted to counter.
A while ago, I came across a co-worker who had been on the way out, but was on the phone with a friend and sobbing. Turns out she was the only person on staff who did not get a raise this year. She was told that she didn't deserve a raise because of her chronic tardiness (usually 5-10 minutes a day); however, she'd noticed that another woman, who's almost always late and is out a lot, got a raise. The co-worker attributed it to having challenged her boss on something earlier. I kind of patted her and talked her down, but she was still upset and angry.
Meanwhile, I got a 2.5 percent raise which, because of taxes, leaves me with less take-home pay than I had in December. sigh ....
That sucks, Jesse.
I am glad I finally figure out how I screwed up my credit cards in Feb. I didn't pay one of them, and then got a late fee and interest, and couldn't figure out why I hadn't paid it--did I not get the bill? Finally today looked at the bill for a different card, and realized what happened--I paid that card twice--once the amount that was owed, and once the amount I SHOULD have paid the other card. Note to self--pay more attention when using online bill pay!!
