Whoa! I... I think I'm having a thought. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's a thought. Now I'm having a plan. Now I'm having a wiggins.

Timelies all!

Congrats Kiba!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Consuela, I am jealous of your run. (I've never said that before.)

Hee! Thanks, zen! It was really pretty, and I only had to walk a couple of times. Of course, I came home to discover that Dad has started refusing one of his meds, convinced it's giving him nightmares. Argh, Dad, why you gotta be that way?

And everyone should be nice to themselves! And congratulations to Kiba! Buy yourself a cupcake or a nice bottle of wine!

Hey, there's a new Vikings episode, yeah? And a new AOS ep, too. Gotta catch up.

I did get my hair cut -- I googled up pictures of Judi Dench, and my stylist tried to give me Dame Judi hair. Looks pretty good.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Congrats, Kiba!

FRIDAY.

I bought a truly excessive amount of snacks at the Korean supermarket, but the frozen dumplings I just had for dinner were pretty good.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I bet it looks great, Consuela.

Hey, quick hivemind question: my DH wants to switch the land line to a phone, and eventually to Google Voice. Is there a strong, compelling reason to keep the land line as a land line?

information libertarian

If cell service is down, you can't call anyone. Remember 9/11 when nobody in New York could make calls, and they were posting online and having people call their family members?

(I have no land line, so it's not like I am up nights about this.)

Arrrggggg. The seller's realtor will review the offers Sunday and send out a message to the buyers agents. I guess so we can offer more. Then she will present to the buyer on Monday. I can't compete in a bidding war but I want that house.

My realtor and K-Bug want me to keep looking. I just...I know I'll be comparing to the house with the current offer.

That's what I thought, flea.

It makes me nervous, but DH is really adamant for some reason about this one.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I've got a land line, but it's part of my cable package, so if the cable goes out I have the same problem as if the cell towers get overloaded. So, depending on if your land line is straight phone service provider or cable provider will make a difference.

Congrats, Kiba!!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I keep a regular (non-cable) land line because I've had to call 911 twice in my life and if I ever have to do it again, I want no question about whether I can get through. But, I know a lot of people who only have cell phones and/or have some Internet or cable based phone. So maybe I'm a scaredy-cat.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I really hope you get it, Suzi! But it's REALLY important that you not get too emotionally invested in the bidding process, because that way lie madness and paying too much money. And even if you don't get it, now you have a tangible goal for knowing exactly what you do want.

I'm trying to strike a line between positivity and my suspicion that the listing agent/homeowner is actively trying to start a bidding war, and that can really lead to some nasty emotional stuff.

Good luck! Maybe do look at a couple this weekend to get your mind off of things, you might even find something you like as much or even more.
