29 hours and 23 minutes to take off, Lee.
NOT EVEN THAT NOW.
I've gotten to the point where I am pretty sure me being at work is kind of silly, because I am just not going to do anything, but we are having an ice cream social later, so I guess I will stay.
Dear goddess my shoulder hurts. Please let this just be arthritis and sleeping wrong and a weather front going through.
Lately the weather fronts have really messed with many of my no-longer-under-warranty body parts. I bet that's what it is for you, too. Do you take ibuprofen or Tylenol for it?
I have some stuff I should get done but it is awfully hard to concentrate.
Happy birthday, tommyrot!
And super cool, Dana!
Meara, they gave us 4000 miles for yesterday's delay. Nothing for Saturday's delays and eventual cancellation. Not sure about today's, my brother bought this ticket, so he may see something.
It is just such s decline in care from the air industry. They have tightened things so much. There are rarely extra planes at any airport in case of mechanicals, they cancel flights that are not full enough, cram every flight.
Do you take ibuprofen or Tylenol for it?
I generally take ibuprofen, I've never had stomach problems with aspirin or the like. When it gets really bad I've got some old Lortabs from my shoulder surgery that I'll take half of. There's also some of Hubby's stash still about the house, but I haven't had to go that far yet, half a Lortab seems to have knocked it down. My household may have become too familiar with narcotics, we call/called them Lora and Perky.
Super-Happy Birthday, tommyrot!
In news of my work eating my brain this week - Tom & tommy's news about reality unraveling was met in my brain with a debate about whether it's unraveling or fraying. Because there's a whole thing about sleeving, and it's apparently very important that it's unraveling not fraying, and and and...and if I never hear the word "sleeving" again it will be too soon.
LOL, JZ! Matilda's always good for a smile!
she was saying "foo is 40% above blah" and I corrected her with "blah is 40% below foo" (because it's a percentage of foo) and she said "I think we are saying the same thing". I do not have time to teach you that today, co-worker, I'm sorry!
I was halfway listening to a story on NPR in the car last night, and I'm pretty sure they were making a similar mistake (otherwise the numbers were ridiculous). I was so disappointed.
The weather where we are going is supposed to be highs in the forties lows in the thirties so I am loaded up with fleeces and whatnot. Because that is cold.
One day last week, the GM (who moved out here from Connecticut) commented because I was wearing boots and so were a several other people. I told her we're just like that meme (people at 50 degrees in Mich v people at 50 deg in Fla) - weather finally dropped below 70, so I could pull out my (fake) Ugg boots.

Well, on Charles P. Pierce's recommendation, I may need a fast trip to Ireland.
I don't understand Slate- So they have Podcasts. And then you can subscribe to Slate Plus to get extras. But they also now have Panoply, which seems to be some sort of podcast station, where there are the slate podcasts AND other podcasts from other places. But I do not understand what the purpose of Panoply is and or how it makes money and or why non-slate people would join Panoply/
I think podcast networks are the new new media thing.
