Probably swinging through New Orleans on the way back.
Whoo!
I made it to early yoga -- Deep Stretch class today at 8! It starts at...8:30. DST brain is dumb
Better than the other way around??
I also made it to morning yoga! (At 9AM, but I had to leave the house at 8:30, which is 7:30 feeling so, earlier than I ever leave the house on Sundays). It was OK, except even though I've lost a bunch of weight I was still going "OMG, why is my body so lumpy??". Sigh.
Now to figure out what to do with the rest of my day...
Yay on the house, Strix!
And yay on 25 years of happy marriage, Laura & B!
I am trying to slog thru some housework and then on to getting a bit of work-work done. With luck, a bit of relaxing mixed in although I spent most of yesterday having fun: took the kids on a field trip to Bergamot Station, a groovy arts complex. They have an arts conservatory class on Saturdays, and this was the school field trip. And then one of Franny's friends invited Franny and me to an kids' opera performance of Noah's Ark at the big Cathedral of the Angels. Other than Noah's wife and the Voice of God, all the roles were sung by children, including one of Franny's elementary school classmates. That was pretty cool! And I had never been to the Cathedral before, so it was nice to see it from the inside.
That sounds like a great day, Burrell.
Have gotten all the perishables out of the fridge or noted them for eating up. Have about 2 qt. of stock going on the stove, celery root in the oven (I am trying baking it whole like a potato, because why not?), and assorted greens, carrots, celery and radishes to be turned into salad which I may or may not be able to consume in the next few days. It looks like a lot.
Sounds good, Burrell!
My mother's off for a business trip, so I have to make my own dinner tonight! Which is good, because I bought a butternut squash to make into farro "risotto." Later.
I just did a fair amount of chipping ice in the driveway and sidewalk. The good news/bad news is that in the big parking area, a lot of the packed snow/ice is totally primed and ready for clearing, which is very satisfying, but the parts that are actually important are almost impossible to get up! You drive up a narrow part to get where my mom parks, and it would be great to widen it, but it gets less sun and has been driven over so many times, it's just solid ice. Ah well. We made a strong effort.
roasted celery root sounds delicious. You are so creative, -t.
It's 50 degrees here. We drove around with the car windows down. I'm surprised people aren't running naked through the streets (many of them are jogging in shorts.)
We just took a 3 mile walk. It is 60 degrees and sunny 48 hours after two snow days. Weird.
Also, I am a 31 year old father of two who now owns a Lego Yoda watch. Life is good. [link]
Yeah, it feels pretty balmy here.
For a week I spent most at home, I sure generated a helluva lot of laundry.
It's okay, Gris, in my mind you'll always be a teenaged girl.
