Fingers crossed for you, Suela!!
I was so useless today. I am much better when I have plenty of work to do. I do still have a tiny bit but it's mostly answering random phone calls and emails, so I can't like, go blow off the day and go hiking. Have to be home and checking email or able to hop right on the work computer. And I suspect it'll be as soon as I have something else going on (my other project getting busy, or leaving for vacation) that they'll suddenly be demanding tons of help and time, even though I've repeatedly told them have free time right NOW.
Whiskey seemed simpler so I went with that.
While y'all were typing about hot toddies, I was drinking one. Nom.
My bread must be done, right? So I can go to bed?
I'm in bed but tossing and turning. I can't seem to turn my brain off at night lately. It's the lack of exercise. But I've been given the okay to start a rehab running program for the next week to get myself back on the road, and that is a very good thing.
Work closed. My employer still doesn't have an admin policy. After 30 years. Resentment not even thinly veiled and inclination to actually work is nil. Will attend mtgs as necessary, but frankly, I'm this close to telling anyone who crosses me to FOAD. Auspicious start.

A solid choice.
Ewww to creepy people being creepy.
Yay to Pix's new running program!

That seems about right.
My decision-making has really gone to hell this winter. I decided I could no longer wear snowboots (I'm wearing sort of hearty regular boots), but also decided to walk the less-cleared route from the bus stop. Why did I do that? It was very slow and treacherous.
Snow day number 4 in the last two weeks. At least this one is real snow and not just a thick layer of ice, but it is playing hell with the fun class engineering project I had planned for this week and next.
We're closed and we were given a leave charge code to charge up to 8 hours to today. That's kind of unprecedented.
Of course, it doesn't actually mean that I can take the day off. If I don't work today it's just pushing off a crisis for later. I am working on a team on a special urgent project right now and I think I'm going to have to be the one to tell the others we probably really should do our planned work today (which will mean being on a call together for hours). Sorry, guys!
Everyone's favorite Boston weather blogger explains that we've beaten the amount of snow fall for the winter, but not for the season (or something; it's all very technical). Basically, we've had the most snow in Dec-Feb, but not yet July-June. [link]
