Meeting went about as well as to be expected. I mean, we didn't get miraculously scooped up and signed to another contract, but that wasn't even in the realm of my expectations. Oh, and no one is being fired, either. But if you want to take the risk of quitting to protect your interests, all new vacancies will never again be this subcontract….

My mgmt is basically on the same page that this state of affairs is not only not to our personal benefit, but that they don't like the risk this is placing on the mission. It's going up the food chain and they really want all the unsugarcoated version of impact on the work.

Nothings happening fast and nothing will happen immediately (other than the suck) but I'm not pessimistic, either.

GOOD. About freaking time.

To be fair, they've not always been told, edges get rounded… (this mgmt is main contract.) There is a can-do culture here that can be unhealthy. We've been nudged to protect ourselves where mgmt's hands are tied for the short term.

CSC doesn't care one way or the other, never will.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

It is raining here today and thus no work, I had planned to meet Mac and nanny for lunch, but when I went to leave everyone is gone. No word to me. The 3 men office people went to lunch together, did not even tell me they were leaving. I never expect an invite at this point. Worst.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

*(Contains neither lard nor glug.)

Man, I'm so over Lard Glug's misleading labels. I'd boycott Big Lard, but I need it to fry up my baloney slices.

eliminates the need to FLOOD YOUR DOG'S SYSTEM WITH HARMFUL CHEMICALS, i.e. heartworm preventative and Jesus Christ, people.

Quit flooding your dog's system with Jesus Christ, people, he needs to drink that water, not walk on it.

tommy, hope your boss's daughter is all right.

Or last night's migraine (which often happens this time of month--yay hormones changing all the time? Ick)

I am so over the hormone-triggered migraines. Just menopause, already.

eta: A Russian news agency says it was shot down by a missile.

Holy shit, I hope not.

It's going up the food chain and they really want all the unsugarcoated version of impact on the work.

Work~ma, sarameg. May it work out to your benefit in the end. And may the shortsighted bastards who implemented that policy experience some karma, too.

I never expect an invite at this point. Worst.

msbelle, that sucks. It's so high-school. They should be delighting in your presence. May your job search land you a job where they appreciate you.

Come on with my pizza, Domino's. One of these days I'll cut back on carbs, but this is not that day.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I have family members who think cancer is 100% preventable by diet, and that treatment requires Rick Simpson oil (made from pot) not chemo. Ugh. Made me angry when my sister was dying, you can imagine. Now I can just look at it as trying to keep his own fears of mortality and cancer at bay.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Now I can just look at it as trying to keep his own fears of mortality and cancer at bay.

I also think some people approach it with the zeal of the recently converted -- eating only steamed palm fronds has made THEM so uber-healthy, surely it will make EVERYONE uber-healthy and never need drugs! (This is usually found in people with excellent genes who don't have chronic illness in their families.)

Drugs are a good thing, man. It's why living in the future is so much better than living in the 1300s.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

tommy, hope your boss's daughter is all right.

Turns out she was in a bike accident. They're checking her for a concussion --otherwise she's ok. She hit her head on the ground, destroying her helmet. So, you know, GO TEAM BIKE HELMET.

Yes, also young enough that any age-related conditions lurking in their background haven't shown up.
