shrift, yes, being reasonably functional under those circs earns stars.
ND, that intersection sounds like the sort of thing you do when you're young because you don't know you can't.

OMG, I am so easy. I've been down on myself and my job for the last few days, but today two different senior people supported me in minor but tricky things, and one of my staff people was thanked by another org leader, and now I feel great.
erika, where are you going?
On my way home, I spent a good 3 minutes strategizing on how to cross the 4' of sidewalk between where I stood in the field and the salted slushy road. Ended up transversing on grass to where the concrete was rougher and had dead grass popping through so I had traction. It was GLASS.
Lisah, is the snowmelt the sugar based stuff? Sarah got it one year and we loved it but haven't seen it since. So much less corrosive. Slightly sticky, but no more so than the mess -chlorides make.
I can't believe I have three more days of work this week. Whose idea was that?
However, I am now enjoying Downton and an orange scone (not a proper scone, I am sure, but my commitment to eating authentic foodstuffs is pretty trivial). So that's okay.
Be careful, everyone trapped in snowglobes!
Landed 15 minutes ago, but jetway is stuck. Ah, New Orleans.
The adorable gay boys next to me are pretty adorable, though.
Aww. Yay gayboys! I'm also very jealous Dana because someone on my FB list posted that Hansens is open now. I was so sad it was so hard to find a year-round place when I was there at Thanksgiving!
I went and did the float thing, where you go in a tank full of epsom salted water and float for an hour! I wasn't really a huge fan though. It was interesting for maybe 10 or 15 minutes. Eventually, my tummy was unhappy so I had to sit up...and then I got salty water in my eyes...and then I was Done. Lasted about 45 minutes. Don't think I'll go back, but it was interesting to have tried!
I want to try lots of things I haven't done (this is a continuation of last summer's stand-up-paddleboarding and skydiving adventures). Anyone got suggestions?
Zip lining through the redwoods? Camel trek through the desert? Perhaps a little white water rafting or a mega trip to the Mall of America??
