"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

That, sucks. I'm sorry.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Why do they do that?

From Wikipedia:

Meteorologists generally define four seasons in many climatic areas: spring, summer, autumn (fall) and winter. These are demarcated by the values of their average temperatures on a monthly basis, with each season lasting three months. The three warmest months are by definition summer, the three coldest months are winter and the intervening gaps are spring and autumn. Spring, when defined in this manner, can start on different dates in different regions. In terms of complete months, in most north temperate zone locations, spring months are March, April and May, although differences exist from country to country.[1] (Summer is June, July, August; autumn is September, October, November; winter is December, January, February). Most south temperate zone locations have opposing seasons with spring in September, October and November. Swedish meteorologists define the beginning of spring as the first occasion on which the average daytime temperature exceeds zero degrees Celsius for seven consecutive days, thus the date varies with latitude and elevation.[2] In Australia and New Zealand, spring conventionally begins on 1 September and ends 30 November.[

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

And the airlines wonder why they're some of the most reviled corporations on the planet. I'm sorry shrift.

Thanks, tommyrot, how interesting! I would bet if it was defined more locally California's meteorological seasons would not line up like that (guessing that September is probably hotter than June hereabouts)

I'm sorry shrift.

Taxes filed! I wasn't missing a form, I just got confused because last time I has extra paperwork due to the refi. Was depressing to see I earned less this past year. Taxes went up, I increased my hsa allotment and of course no raise. Bah.

That is depressing, sarameg. Glad you got it done, though.

OMG, I am so spoiled after taking those Fridays off. I have to work all 5 days this week! I hope I can manage it.

Of course, I only work three days next week before I start my vacation. And when I come back it's a four-day week for Good Friday. April is going to be a rough transition for me, I suspect.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I would be happier if DST lasted all year, but I'm usually in the minority on that one.

I was gonna say the same, -t. September always seems hotter than June, and frankly some years October probably gives July a run for its money (at least in Southern California).

My current plan is to head up to Michigan on Wednesday evening and come back Sunday. I will keep checking for last minute deals to Los Angeles over the next couple of days, because Amtrak actually makes it very easy to change train tickets.
