Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

When I was a kid we divided our garbage into stuff we burned, stuff that went in the manure spreader and stuff we hauled to the dump. My job was burning stuff, which was fun.

brillig

I was tommy as a kid. We lived out in the country and we burned our trash in a small pit next to the creek. We had two garbage cans for stuff that wouldn't burn, I don't remember how those got emptied.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

My friend's basset hound Chopper has learned how to turn on the Roomba just so he can chase it around and bark at it.

That's wonderful.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

My job was burning stuff, too! We had a big concrete bucket-like thing ("firepit", I guess) with a hole in the bottom to pull ashes out of. Anything that couldn't burn, got dumped into a sinkhole, of which we had many. I'd love to go back and excavate those sinkholes.

We've had a pretty mild Summer so far. Why am I already looking forward to Fall?

Maybe it's because Fall is my favorite season, but I never start looking forward to it this early.

shrift, did the cleaning help?

Maybe? I'll monitor the refrigerator over the next few days to see if it made a difference. I also need to experiment a bit with where to store things since it's definitely colder in the back and warmer at the front.

I've had that problem too. I can put liquids in the back of the top shelf or they'll freeze when they're almost empty.

I've noticed that the hotter my kitchen is, the more likely the fridge is to over-cool. Probably has something to do with the sensors and humidity levels and whatzit. (Kitchen is the hotbox in the summer months.)

hip deep in pie

So I am home with a migraine, which I seem to be on the other side of. But last night I was totally in denial that it was coming on. I was out in the garden doing some work. Then I was so proud of myself for managing to get the green bin to the curb before dark. Except my wires were totally crossed and my pickup day isn't until tomorrow. D'oh.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Now, I'm pretty distant (for most things). In some ways, the internet is a much nicer, less confrontational place. Is it because my internet experiences are way less interactive and way more broadcasting. Or is it because I just have fewer spoons?

For me, fewer spoons, esp. since parenting, plus it makes me actively unhappy.
