You got a cab today? I thought they were all in the loop refusing to pick up passengers.
I guess some of them decided to pick up people at the airport? Maybe this is why I got Mr. Racist. He probably didn't want to take part in anything any non-white people were doing.
I have no excuse not to go to rehearsal tonight, other than it's cold and I'm tired.
I just threw away his card, which I'd already decided to do when he handed it over and said he'd even wave the $4 additional fee he usually charged for being able to speak English.
Uh...maybe he was joking, but is that even legal? Is there not a meter? (Isn't the issue more commonly the CABBIE speaking English, rather than the passengers?? Or does he have issues with tourists? WTF?)
the $4 additional fee he usually charged for being able to speak English.
I would have taken that at face value, reported him to the Taxicab Commission, contacted the "liberal" news media, started a Twitter trend, and generally make his life a living hell. But that's just me, with my dirty immigrant father who doesn't speak English properly, but is more successful and compassionate than that asshole will EVER be.
Uh, I may feel strongly about this.
Uh...maybe he was joking, but is that even legal?
He was joking about his ability to speak English, I'm pretty sure, not the other way around.

I can dig out the card and send his info? I don't have the bandwidth to start anything right now, and he apparently is paralyzed. This doesn't proclude him from being a racist dickbag, but it did make me think twice about going after him.

Oh! Like "I charge extra because I speak English" and not "I charge extra to people who don't speak English"?? Still wrong, but it makes slightly more (racist) sense.
I wish the people who put together recipes for packaged meals would learn that there are flavors other than peppers. After eating an otherwise acceptable manicotti dish, parts of my mouth are numb from the level of peppers in the sauce. Anymore, it's like meals are "something kind of bland + pepper = 'robust and flavorful!'" I know it's because peppers are dirt cheap, but I'm sick of it. Sometimes literally. I've had near-asthmatic reactions to food even after I've picked out the huge chunks of pepper.
My motivation is gone. I don't really want it back, but apparently I need to be an adult with a job. Meh.
Connie, my BFF and I were having that exact conversation last night. "Spicy" is not just another word for "hot"! There are other spices besides peppers! Neither of us can handle hot peppers.
