I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Stay safe and warm, peoples!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Yikes, found out today prior to dinner with the best friend and his kids that his mother had spent several days in the psych hospital last month for depression, and almost had him take her back in today before changing her mind. From the sound of it her latest episode of depression had her in a lower motivation/energy state of mind than I was at my worst (though thankfully it's passive, so no suicidal ideation), and she's not helping the process by cooperating much with psychiatric care.

I can help by lending an emotional support and giving him some perspective on what clinical depression is like from the inside. But I'm at a loss to suggest practical things to do if his mother won't at least try to meet the docs halfway.

That sounds tough Matt. Eek.

I went out with a gay dude friend of mine for V Day. We hit a gay bar for a cocktail. Then a Greek place for some food. The the lesbian bar for a shot (because he'd never been there). The a stop at the cupcake place for the "deathcake royale". Then a gay boy bar for people watching and another drink. Good times.

-t, part of the reason I have a housecleaner come once a month is so I know that the floor has been mopped at least in the past 30 days. Because otherwise I'd have no idea and it would probably be much less frequent.

The status is NOT quo.

...I had a lot of caffeine at dinner. And an excedrin migraine during the play we went to see.

So yeah, it's 3 am and I'm wide awake. Anyone out there?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh your poor friend, Matt.

Sky is clear but snow is blowing like whoa. Whiteout brought on by rearranged fallen snow.

We had that on Friday. It was sunny, but you would have sworn it was snowing out.

Last night's discussion inspired me to at least give the kitchen floor a half-assed Swiffer. So that's a little better, at least.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Why is it 0 degrees? Why do I have to go out?

Also, why do I not own pants?

You should have some emergency pants, Sophia! (I was IMing with my coworker who was out of town last week, and I was like, "Here is how crazy things are here: Our boss is wearing pants!") 0 is not enough degrees.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I got a pair of thermal running pants that are awesome for days like this.
