I have been dangerously low on motivation all day. 81 minutes to go.
Charles Krauthammer
Really no one was bothered by the creepiness?
Is this a unique to me creepiness?
I don't know who that is.
Timelies all!
msbelle, I wouldn't know him to look at him, but I've seen enough of his columns in the Post to get the creepiness.
Heading to Boskone tomorrow. Must pack...
Steph, we have a similar situation - we have a thing that's a compilation of sections, each addressing a specific issue. There's a new one in the works and the people doing it sent us a PDF - all laid out, looking nothing like the rest of the sections - and it's FULL of charts and images they lifted from a bunch of web sites. I'd asked about copyright and they were all "BAROOOOOO". When I asked for a Word file so we could set it up in the standard layout (as well as getting permission to use all the charts and images) they said there was no Word file ... leaving me to assume that the Acrobat fairy gifted them with the PDF, right from the head of the author.
Setting my auto-responder for a four-day weekend, woohoo! Possibly I should not be quite so gleeful about that. Oh well.
Krauthammer is creepy as hell, but creepier than the idea of your going to a TT F2F? Unclear.
I have to schedule some time off before July. If I can't figure out places to go, I should still take off time at home.
Come to the Bay Area! But not in March.

Maybe they used InDesign or Quark XPress (if anyone still uses Quark), and so they took your request extremely literally, and were correct when they said there was no Word file. Did you ask for a source file (literally those words: "source file"), rather than "Word file"? That might work.
