Because books.

I'm so excited. And I can do it in my pajamas!

I'm very consciously not thinking of writing rejection letters for now, though.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am at the corporate offices today doing some cross training with peers so we better understand each others' process and how our pieces all fit together. It is the kind of training that is actually helpful, but the company doesn't initiate, we have to do it ourselves.

Just took a weird turn, the person who I was training with got a call from HR and was ask to go see them, no subject given even though she asked. Now she just came back up and said she had to leave to care for her daughter (daughter recently had surgery, we all know because she sent an email and missed a couple of days). Odd right? HR call couldn't have had anything to do with the daughter, the daughter would have just called mom directly. I am so confused, also reminded of the paranoia that seems to live at corporate. Random calls from HR to come see them in a department that has let 2 ppl go in the last 6 months despite being a very busy department.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have done very little work this morning. I have two calls coming up, and then I have to write three short things. That will have to be enough.

Art Crawl!!!

That sidewalk shoveling/liability thing is something that many believe. Don't know why.

Meanwhile - I think my town's main problem is the crappy surface of the sidewalks that gives melt-off plenty of places to pool and form icy areas.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

My boss is now in NYC so I've had nothing to do today besides answer an email from him. (I'm here in case I need to take care of any issues with our biggest client.)

I finally decided to get off my ass and start studying for Microsoft certification exams for MS SQL Server. I might as well make myself more employable while I'm here.
