I have similar issues with this dress, that I bought right around the same time and have likewise never worn:

I've been checking my e-mail every half hour to see if the deluge of files I'm supposed to get done by EOD Tuesday has actually started flowing my way yet. Well editors, it was a barely possible deadline when I told you I could work on it today back on Friday, but squeezing 3 busy days worth of work into two isn't going to work out so well.
Woo hoo? Just found out today, Sunday, that this week we're supposed to dump our usual jeans-and-tshirt wardrobes for business casual because of our user conference. There are no emails out on this. Word kind of filtered around on Friday, my usual day off. Fortunately Standard Sunday Coworker let me know. I don't have any dress pants, fortunately I have longish, heavyish skirts.
I feel like we haven't heard from omnis in a while. Am I wrong? Have I just missed his posts?Hi all. No. Haven't missed my posts. Thanks for thinking of me. I've been super swamped Since New Years. I kinda feel like Bill Murray meeting the Ghost of Christmas Present. I'm still trying to catch up on Bitches and ita threads. I don't normally post in Natter. But BT reached out. Thought I'd pop in and let you know I'm alive. Hopefully just a couple more weeks of super crazy, and then life goes back to normal level of crazy.
slips back into semi-dark/lurker-verse...
meara, those look like sexy work dresses, or wear a jacket over it at work because you have a dinner date after work.
I think possibly what I need is to be going on super-fancy adult-type dates with someone??
That would certainly be appropriate! Or, like, going to art gallery openings or the like, maybe? I feel like if someone made something like that on Project Runway, that's where they would say their girl was going to wear it. Anyway, super pretty dresses.
Seems like that word should have come through official channels, Connie.
I wanna go do dress up things with adults. I don't like many of my clothes. I am bored with everything.
Ooh, yes. Art gallery openings would be totes appropriate! Possibly to the ballet, on a date?
I made plans with a gay dude friend of mine for V-Day. We'll have to come up with a place to do dinner that will not be ridiculous, crowded, and full of loooooooove.
I need to find a period dress for Sarah's wedding. It's afternoon/evening with a fancy picnic style (at the Clyburn arboretum visitors center, with prewedding reception in the mansion for close friends.) Bride will be in vintage 70s dress. I need to find something garden party or fancier 30s/40s. I'd love to go all Miss Fisher's Mysteries, but not a lot of that is great on my shape. Need to get cracking on that.
Also trying to decide if I want to try to do some DIY stuff at home (changing out a wall sconce and a hanging light to different ones; changing the deadbolt to a keypad lock), which are supposedly simple, but I suspect I will screw up. But a professional could do them in about 10 minutes each, which seems silly to pay for. Ugh.
This is exactly the kind of thing I'd get wound up about before Bob moved in. But, the fact is, I'm just not handy and I'd much rather pay someone that is to do this kind of crap that be anxious about it, put off doing it, or eventually try to do it and fuck it up. It's just the kind of problem that money was made to be thrown at!
Bob is actually kind of handy so, if he thinks he can do something, I don't argue with him. For other stuff we have our contractor friend. What we've done is get a list of things together that he can do all at once. So, it makes a little easier to justify spending the money than having someone come in to fix one small thing. He appreciates getting the work especially in times like this, the Winter, when his bigger jobs dry up.
