Ever since they started making non-lotion Puffs, it seems like only about a quarter of the Puffs' shelf space is devoted to Puffs Plus. That spaces is frequently empty.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Mum browbeat pops, I'm getting more money sent my way, yay!

Yet also, when I told her the news that we may have to pay into our health insurance, she broke out the "get a new job" spiel.

I had actually asked the ED "why?" And the finance admin said they had only budgeted for so much and the ED said that that monthly additional cost times x number of employees times 12 months was "a lot of money". I sat there and thought "but you keep telling us that the budget is just a guideline, not cold hard facts" and "we do tons of expensive things that aren't budgeted for, and it's okay, because you find the money, raise it, get a sponsor or a grant or a donor to make it happen. We didn't even get a cost if living raise this year.

Last I heard, he was working to do just that, and part of me is happy that because I spoke up out this in motion, and a part of me hopes that he had already taken that initiative and hadn't said anything lest he get our hopes up in vain. Because I hate to think how fucked I'd be if it wasn't the latter and I hadn't expressed an opinion.

Dinner was a bowl of baby spinach, unadorned, eaten with my fingers. And now I'm researching replacing faucets for which I have to turn of the water because there's no cutoff valves at the faucet. It's old enough that just trying to replace the washers would be evil (this is for my basement washtub sink, so replacement is cheap. It's dripping and no amount of tightening works.) may put in hot&scold cut offs as well.

I am winning at adulting.

One of the cats just tried to use my back as a surfboard while I was making tacos.

Pumpkin pretty much does that every morning as I'm toweling off. At least she waits for the towel. Mostly. She really likes writhing about my freshly washed back and shoulders and hair. Good thing she's light and agile.

It was entertaining until I tried to stand up and the claws came out.

It's depressing to collect your friend's mail that slips through usps forwarding to mail to her. Want her back. As an aside, usps fails to forward her w2s and 1099s. Fantastic.

The status is NOT quo.

Yeah...I heard that promoted on NPR of all places. And then my students found it online and SHOWED IT TO ME. And now I’m scarred.
