'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'm out on the patio in front of the Readercon hotel enjoying the perfect temp and the relative quiet. The con is fun but chock full of noisy people.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Met potential new boss; am very excited. Hope he takes the job.

Turns out he'd applied back when, but the board had gone with the useless bag of wind instead.

We actually had to be forced to stop talking so he could meet the other staff. I liked the pointed questions he asked, and I liked the comments he gave. And it was just so so different from the egotistical snotty attitude of the last guy who was highly underqualified yet also approved by the board. The board wants us to develop the woods into "useful" public space, so obviously they're too stupid to live. "Those gosh-darned pine barrens keep catching fire, let's develop them!" Hello, last open space in town here, let's hold onto our native hardwood forest.

Ahem.

So, excited about new boss. I'm fairly certain he'll say yes. I just hope he isn't a luddite.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Okay, someone please help me out here, because I'm about to freak out. Does anyone know anything about petechiae (on the ankles and feet in this case) and if it's related to taking Buspar?

I'm supposed to go to a party thingy in an hour, and I want to crawl in bed and hide instead.

Sorry! Could it be like you were banging them with a bag you were carrying or something?

Petechiae are not a known Buspar side effect. They can be caused by an allergic reaction. Maybe you walked through some grass or weeds?

No, Theo. No obvious reason for it. It's not bruising. It's on my feet and ankles and lower legs, on both legs. The pinpricks are really tiny, I might not have noticed if I hadn't been in the sunlight, but once seen...

I know Buspar raises blood pressure, and there's nothing else I can think of to account for it. Given that my mom died of vasculitis, anything going wrong with my blood vessels frankly scares me badly.

I've been walking on pavement. No plants have touched me today!

This ain't normal, is all I know.

Does your insurance have a nurse line, or can you call your doctor? Usually there's someone on call.

Ooh, that sounds promising!

I made pie, and since I made a lattice top crust there was enough left over for a tiny pie for me (YUM) and a tiny pie for my new roommate, who moved in today! It's a bit weird--my last one was only around for a little over a month, really, and gone a lot, so it's been months, and it's strange having someone around, even though she's someone I already knew!

Lattice top crusts seem so incredibly difficult and FANCY.

I have Rainbow Rowell's new book which I am looking forward to. I absolutely need to make an eye appointment for next week as I am having a hard time seeing.

French Bulldogs are pretty cute. We have a friend from N's baseball team that has two: Guapo and Dulce.

Art Crawl!!!

I'm reading that hoodwinked house blog. Horrifying and fascinating, but I do wonder if tearing the house down might have been a better option.

I find Tiny Houses fascinating but somewhat claustrophobic.
