So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Man, I just got word that a former coworker died. No other info yet. He wasn't all that old, either.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Oh Dana, that sucks.

My mind went to a mob place when I saw Genoese. I was asking myself why the nicest was worrying about a New York City crime family.

(Yes I know it's Genovese, but I'm not quibbling over a letter here.)

Plei, I'm so sorry.

People who we know (and who we don't know but are still awesome), please stop dying.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I've been loving the Great British Baking Show ... they're VERY demanding in regard to both taste and presentation (I'm not - once you cut into something, it's not going to look so nice). And sometimes it's hard to figure out what the English means to USians.

The complexity of the stuff they bake is amazing. That torte last night was impressive.

I have laid the groundwork to call in sick tomorrow.

No karate for me tonight, I will drop Mac off and go water the plants and my parents'.

Can't your parents get their own water?

They are in Australia. I was supposed to go water their plants last week and flaked. Also supposed to take any usable good out of their fridge.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm sorry, PMM and Dana.

I just watched an episode of Reign. It's been good and trashy, as expected, but the costuming makes me want to throw things at the tv. 1550s French fashion by way of 1990s prom dresses. Ugh. But the actress playing Catherine De Medici is terrific though.
