Also mildly miffed that our group meetings with the department, uh, I forget her title, director? Anyway, those will now be every 8 weeks instead of once a month, and will be on Mondays, which is my busiest day full of deadlines and incoming data, at 11, when I would prefer to take my lunch. It's not filling me with confidence that our management team is in touch with us workers (the ostensible purpose of these meetings, keeping communication lines open).

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I keep finding myself caught in between our Dean (who was a partner is a big law firm with lots of $$ to spend) and our university technology department (not a lot of money to spend), and it is making me wish I could get the flu for a week so I could bow out of the current fight for services. le sigh
Also, I have been arranging my kid's summer, and some of the camps are already full, so now I have three weeks where I need a new plan.
Yay, Kiba Rika!
Boo hiss, nasty extra-long commutes!
And I just spilled my tea all over myself. I need a new coping mechanism.
one of the pictures she sent me last week was of her and a friend's kid, taste-testing rootbeers...and putting the results in Excel.
That sounds completely adorable.
ION, the white noise is, shockingly, not muffling anyone's conversation, just providing a grim coating of auditory sludge at the bottom of all the other sounds. I want to hurt someone. Also, my elderly ex-boss who is like a second father (but, you know, a father that I can discuss politics and movies and books with) is drooping and defeated because his eyes can't adjust to all the shiny bright white walls and desktops and cabinets and the glare is giving him a headache. I sincerely desire to HULKSMASH the building that's making my doctor wretched.
OMG, that sounds terrible, JZ. I am scared of my upcoming office move.
I am also trying to plan a trip to the Grand Canyon! Has anyone ever done a trip there from Vegas? I'm thinking about a two-day bus tour with my mom.
Ugh, JZ.
I have not done Grand Canyon from Vegas, but I love the Grand Canyon in general! Bus tour might be nice, it's a long drive from anywhere in my experience and being able to doze through that part could be good.
And meant to say - meara's texting dorky girl sounds fun!
JZ, perhaps you could find your ex-boss some spiffy yellow glare-reducing glasses? I can't drive at night without them. I wear an eye shade at work because of the fluorescents.
I used to wear those yellow glasses at work after we went to tiny cubibles with glaring flourescent lights. Also a baseball cap on certain migraine-susceptible days. Baseball cap may not appropriate for a doctor, though.
