What? I'm not allowed to hit people? Wesley: Not people capable of genocide. Angel: Those are exactly the types of people I should be allowed to hit!

Debating crossing the street to the Caribbean Fest. On one hand, it sounds great. Otoh, it's so damned humid.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yes you can, Sue!

It is perfect here, and I am just back from the beach with my mom. Now to lounge some, see my father and then out to dinner with houseguests!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

hip deep in pie

The beach is my dream. Without a car, it's so close and yet so far.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I've been asked to photograph a French Bulldog Party today: [link]

The beach I usually take the subway to takes an hour by subway, but only a half-hour by car! Total score.

Tom, the cuteness factor there will be off the scale. Awesome little Frenchie ears!

In other news, I finally started up the free trial of The Daily Burn today. I suspect that this will kick my ass on a regular basis. It's like having an endless series of workout videos, with a new workout posted every day. They have five-minute workouts or full 60-minute ones. And it's only a little bit more expensive than my Hulu Plus account: a year's membership is cheaper than getting my house cleaned once.

What I like is that I'm really bad at workout classes: they're never at the right time for me, and they cost too much, and I'm kind of uncoordinated. So I like being able to be awkward and not worry about bumping into someone else.

We'll see: if I do the workout even once a week, that'd be worth it.

You make a good case for it, Conseula. Let me know how it goes, I might be interested.

Since I got 10000 steps (and 35(!) flights of stairs) according to my fitbit in by noon, I can just sit around for the rest of the day, right?

Uh, obviously! At one point I misspoke to someone and said I had almost reached the step limit for the day, on my fitbit, and they were like "you mean...GOAL?" and I was all "...totally what I meant..."

Ended up spending $70 for me and $100 for roomie on the sample sale--it's gotten more popular, last time I got there at 8:30AM (started at 9) and was second in line. This time I got there at 8:40 and there were 25 people ahead of me! Luckily most of them were skinny runner types, so they were not fighting me for the Large and XL sized clothes. Mostly out-of-season stuff (long sleeves and sweatshirts) but still--for a lot of it, ONE piece would be $70, and instead they were $10 each. Good deal! (http://www.oiselle.com/ for those curious--I bet Suela would like some of it!)

And now it is super hot and I am supposed to BAKE A PIE. Ew.
