Great tattoo, shrift!
He wrote 2 for two...in a sentence in schoolwork! I do not get it.
Frances did this today as well, wrote 4 for four and then rolled her eyes when I corrected it. Argh!
About the not getting sentences thing, I notice sometimes Frances just seems to stop processing information at times. She'll make a mistake, we'll go over it and correct it, and then she'll continue to work and make the exact same mistake again. And again. Wash, rinse, repeat. And then one of those times, almost randomly it seems, she goes "oh!" and the lightbulb goes on and she starts to get it.
Shrift, that's a lovely tattoo!
Thrifting was fun, and I found some fun books and a couple of skirts.
Gorgeous tattoo, Shrift! I love the way the petals look like hearts.
The weather channel will not tell me how much snow we've gotten over the past two days. What good is it? New England isn't the only part of the country that exists. And my Local on the Eight isn't telling me, either. Bleh.
Only about a third of the sidewalks were shoveled on my way to the train station. It was minus eight windchill but with the workout I got trudging through the snow I ended up all hot and sweaty by the time I got to the station. Still beats digging my car out, though.
We got 12 or 14 inches, but there were drifts over two feet deep.
Not gonna make it to the gym this morning. I wouldn't have time to swim and wash my hair and get to work on time. Will bring packed bag to work, try for afternoon swim.
Apparently we got 19.3 inches of snow. If I'd known that I probably would have stayed in bed.
Also, I regret not buying new boots before the storm as the treads are almost worn off mine. That would have made things easier.
(I'll stop babbling once I get caffeine.)
I live ½ mile from work—5 long blocks. Normally, it’s the easiest commute in the world, but when you have to do it in a strong headwind, while it’s sleeting, while trying to dodge huge puddles of slush, not so pleasant.
I am so sweaty and cranky!
But not as cranky as my boss, who was supposed to be flying to Haiti this morning. She was told by our colleagues there not to come today because of security concerns, but she figured her flight would be cancelled anyway. It was not! But what was, was the flight she also booked for tonight. Looks like she won't make it for the afternoon meeting tomorrow. On the upside, that might mean I get to go down for a different meeting on Wednesday!
Glad to say my commute wasn't too bad. The snow stopped last night, roads have been plowed and sand laid down. Drove a little slower than usual, but not excessively. The only thing that slowed me down was waiting for a train to back into a siding.
Found a site that would give me snowfall and I'm not quite sure if we got 5-1/2 or 8-1/2 inches. The 5-1/2 was just for yesterday. Another place said 1-1/2 for Saturday, so total of 7. Not sure where the 8-1/2 came from. Much better weather than most of the midwest and northeast, so I'm not going to complain.
My question is if we're going to get 6 more weeks of winter. Punxsutawney Phil says yes, Jimmy the Groundhog (just outside of Madison in Sun Prairie, WI) says no. I say Jimmy is a big, fat liar. It's too sunny out today for him to not have seen his shadow this morning.
