Natter 73: Chuck Norris only wishes he could Natter
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
msbelle, I'm glad you figured out the problem.
Yay, shrift! Of what?
Who was that in the ad with Sarah Silverman?
Ha, got the critters all flea treated on the first of the month! It's my usual goal, but it rarely happens on time.
I do not know what to think about that, sj.
Now we're at numbers I like!
Awesome, shrift. Is it the one you mentioned the other day?
Yay, tat!
msbelle, does he work better with a checklist? You need these parts of speech to make a complete sentence. Or parallel examples of complete and incomplete sentences? It seems like he needs a different approach to explaining the assignment than what the teacher gave. Also, the teacher should know that he doesn't understand; that he's not *just* being stubborn.
edit - Slowest x-post ever.
That's a frustrating place to be in, when everyone assumes you know something but you don't and you don't want to look like an idiot by saying you don't understand, and everything's moving farther and farther away from what you know.
edit: That's how I felt in most math classes past basic algebra.
Checklists are totally good. Also articles are one of the last things to be acquired when learning a new language (prepositions is the other).
Oh my god that super glue commercial.
This is science. The teacher is not going to take the time to work with him to see if he knows how to write complete sentences. He is not going to know enough abut what is being asked to answer that he doesn't know why these weren't complete sentences. He can write complete sentences, he doesn't think how to change a definition structure to a sentence structure, it is hard for him. Almost done.
