Mal: So we run. Nandi: I understand, Captain Reynolds. You have your people to think of, same as me. And this ain't your fight. Mal: Don't believe you do understand, Nandi. I said 'we run'. We.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Secretly winning at color co-ordination: my yellow bra matches the "kaboom"s on my wonder woman underwear AND the lettering of my "I am the kwisatch haderach" t-shirt

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Good lord, flea. That is something else.

Our wings are not tired.

This makes me think I should give my boys more to complain about.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

My mother called me from downtown Boston on Thursday and DELIBERATELY HIT A PEDESTRIAN while talking to me on the phone.

Ahahahahaha, it's tough in Boston.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Funny, I thought half the fun of parenting was embarassing your kids.

Cool dude.

Very cool, Aurelia. It's nice to know when your hereoes aren't jerks. Thank you for sharing.

Kat, congratulations on your wedding, whether you make a big fuss or not may the result be lasting joy for your family.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I got carded today for the first time in many years. It was at TJs, and I mentioned I was turning 50 soon.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Reader, I hung up on her, but before I did she said, "Okay, nobody loves me, bye." 65 or 5, you tell me.

Oy, flea. That sounds strikingly like my mother in the last years of her life.

What a morning.

Sadness: a childhood friend of my nieces, who went to MIT and met a lovely young man and got married a few years ago and now is in grad school at Cal -- well, her lovely husband died last night. Nobody seems to know why, possibly a heart ailment. So A is widowed at 25. The mind reels. So shocked and horrified.

Better news: I have overhead lights in my house again! Finally got an electrician who was willing to poke around, and he determined that I have both modern wiring and knob-and-tube wiring, and while the breaker box was good, there was a loose fuse in the fuse box. Fixed! I no longer have to run an extension cord across the kitchen to get my oven to work!

Annoying: The overhead light in the dining room still doesn't work, it appears to be a flaw in the fixture. Which means I will have to replace both the overhead fixtures in the kitchen...

Great news: Kat is getting married, yay! Congratulations!

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

OMG, flea.

"Okay, nobody loves me, bye."

I think I'm going to try and end at least one phone conversation this way this week.

Edit: That is so sad about your nieces' friend, Consuela.

Yay, Kat and K!

That sounds like winning to me!

And yeah, Suela, look around at credit unions again--here BECU is big--it used to be Boeing Employees Credit Union, but now anyone can join (or maybe just Washington residents, or something).

I have spent all the money at Target. But my house is looking really nice! I love the new dining room table I got last weekend from my ex-coworker. Worth the bruises and car rental and so on.

My mother is kinda whackadoodle sometimes, but not like flea's mom, dang!

Our wings are not tired.

Oh dear, Consuela. May she find comfort.
