Yay for new jobs!
Yay everybody!
It was a week ago today that I mentioned giving up the daily Dunkin in order to save money for karate.
Congrats. I have pretty much given up my Starbucks habit. Also being tighter on my Amazon habit. Plus, quitting (man, I hate that word) karate...should net me a savings of $250/month-ish. I have ordered my credit reports (they won't give them to me online for some reason? Too horrible?) and have put in a request to speak with a financial advisor at my credit union.
Plei (or should we avoid that nick?), pre-congrats, though I'm sure that is only temporary before becoming CONGRATS!!!
I am glad that I do not have an Amazon habit. I should probably just put a one year ban on book and music purchases unless I've been given a gift card. Should probably do the same for new clothing for myself. That would more than create enough cushion to cover a movie out a month.
Come on austerity budget ideas, what else we got?
PMM, congrats on the new job (pending pee test)!
I calculate I'm saving about $500 this year by cutting back on the soda-drinking habit. I'll save a lot if I learn to cook and quit eating out so much, too, but that's still hypothetical. Oh, and putting the brakes on the Amazon and eBay habit has saved me a lot of money.
Whooo, gainful employment for Plei!
Yay, Plei!

"Quit buying shit I don't need" is the name of my budget this year. I usually deal with depression by buying stuff to make myself feel better. Now I'm feeling better for real, and I don't feel that need to find the "thing" that will make me happy. Now I have a house full of crap I wish I could get my money back for!
Right now I want to order a pizza real bad, and I'm not doing it because I promised myself I wouldn't, and I'm mad at myself for making me promise.

Yes...that is it here too. I did a full review of what I spent in 2014 and it is scary the amount of money I spent on grocery AND dining out.
K-Bug and I are trying hard to meal plan each week, cook/prep as much as possible on Sunday so that dinners are easier.
