Plei, your mother... May I offer hair pats while continuing to laugh? Because it was awful, but so so funny!
Oh, by all means! I haven't survived 40 years with her as my mother without learning that I have to laugh at it.

Go you, Drew. Hope it goes well!
Coworker, I promise you there's no need to send me my action items from the meeting notes that I sent after the meeting that I ran.
I hope your meeting goes splendidly, ND.
Good luck, Drew! I hope the edginess smooths out or is not too bothersome.
It's impossible to not be aware that the Patriots are in the Superb Owl around here -- even if, like me, you only listen to NPR because they've been covering DeflateGate, including science specialists to explain how gases work.
Timelies all!
I'm more likely to be called a different name that begins with S than to be called by a diminutive form of my name. Neither happens much. (Been called Sharon and Sheila by people who couldn't remember my name. Was called Sherry by a teacher in high school. That's about it.)

Even Neil Degrasse Tyson weighed in on this today!
Superb Owl parties do tend to have yummy food, and I bet there will be other people there who don't care about the game.
Definitely. As people who *do* watch the games, we actually pick and choose our SB or playoff game parties to ensure that we will actually have predominantly football watchers. It's not really the norm if you're not in one of the team cities.
I'm looking forward to being all about the commercials this year, actually.
My aunt's mother, the Patriots season-ticket holder, is going to the game, as usual. They paid $7K for regular seats! WHAT.
You guys, I have been very accomplished this afternoon. My heater crapped out, but I remembered what to adjust to fix it, and then I went and shoveled, and then my mother and I had pulled pork that I made for dinner! (She made the sauce, so I maintain it's mostly delicious because of her, but still.) I even did some work!
I will be grading lab papers at my friends' Superb Owl party, as is now traditional for me. (We usually don't care all that much about the game; it's more of an excuse to get together.)
