Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think we all need this, but perhaps especially Jesse. [link]

(Because of who her Representative is, natch.)

Hee, that took me a minute, because Ed Markey is a Senator now! And my Rep is Chris Evans's uncle.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Plei, you are more than welcome to borrow either of my brothers or my BIL should you ever feel the need for actual brotherness. He does not deserve to be your sib.

I didn't even realize Chris Evans was from MA until I saw the Super Bowl bet.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Yay flea! Yay sumi! Yay Jilli's coworkers for being right-headed thinkers!

its subset New-management-establishing-itself-by-shitting-all-over-everyone-who's-already-there

I'm experiencing this subset, where they decided to change the entire org structure and shuffle people around willy-nilly, and by willy-nilly, I mean that nobody's direct manager actually had any input. And I definitely should have started looking for something internal at least a month or two earlier when I felt the sinking sensation of "oh, this isn't going to end well."

In other news, I am trying to figure out how to get to New Orleans. You would think it would not be difficult to get to New Orleans from Chicago. Why do you want me to connect in Charlotte?! What have I ever done to you?

brillig

It looks like I'll be headed back there in June.

The Queen of Darkness belongs in the eternal night of Denmark in winter. I'm not sure about the PerkyGoth in the Land of the Midnight Sun. It seems very vampire unfriendly.

not your mom's socks.

Congratulations, family Flea - that's a gorgeous house.

Sumi - hooray for no brace!

Steph, agreeing with everyone -- having a written guide is helpful and will probably help with Boss stress. I hope.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

You can take the train, shrift. That is, oddly enough, the only way I have traveled between Chicago and NOLA. It's surprising, considering the importance of tourism, how few places you can go direct to/from MSY. OTOH, is Charlotte the airport with the rocking chairs?

I'm feeling kinda sassy about winter driving conditions.

Nice.

I ordered sofritas to pick up from Chipotle to take advantage of the free-burrito-later deal and did not realize that the earliest I can pick up my order is 1 PST. So hungry.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Aww, thanks! I have a pretty awesome in-law, myself.

Wow, Plei. I can't believe anyone would ever speak to you that way. I'm so sorry.

Eh, I'm happier, prettier, and look younger than he does, even though he's the baby of the family.

Because you are awesome and he is obviously not.
