should I be worried about this?
Some concern may be warranted. If it was me, I'd unscrew the light switch and see if there was a bare wire.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Switch in a lamp or a wall switch? Either way you should look at it, but if you rock a wall switch slowly enough you could cause an arc.
Andi, can the supervisor have A Little Talk with Mrs. Not Cooperating? This kind of crap is why I quit social work; it wasn't the patients, it was the idiots on the other side of the desk.
Bosslady told me in an email that both she and her boss are aware of that situation and are monitoring it and will follow up as necessary. More than that she will not, nor should she, say. It very much matches my thought that "This could become a performance issue for Mrs. Loves Starch".
In totally opposite news, I've got one coworker volunteering to type up the recipes I have collected to use with the menus, and another who enthusiastically raved about how good tonight's supper was - tuna and chopped cucumbers in a dressing of mayo and Ranch with crackers, and a fruit salad made from vanilla Greek style yogurt, fruit cocktail and mandarin oranges. I actually planned something slightly more elegant by way of dinner salad, but this is the wrong end of the week from when the grocery shopping gets done to have all the fresh produce cooperate. Just goes to show, sometimes the simplest things are the best.
should I be worried about this? I just turned off a light and the light switch went bzzt and threw a spark. This has never happened before. Do I need to call an electrician?
When this happened in my bathroom, the electrician told me that the color of the spark made a difference. Sadly, I can't remember which was which.
In any case, Connie has the right of it about the potential for a bare wire...that was my problem. I did take the cover off before the electrician came. He gave me a very sour look when I mentioned this and asked me if I had a death wish.
IJS.
You can take the cover off, just don't touch anything behind the cover without switching off the breaker.
Before I forget to say it, I learned something today: Liese's pictures don't begin to do her justice
SI belt- tight enough to squish the bones together, not so tight that you can't sit or walk. The elastic makes it difficult to get it Too tight. Extremely unflattering. Over yoga pants. Under jeans, but not against bare skin (that way brings blood blisters). Boxer briefs are helpful.
Thank you for the advice, everyone. I will call an electrician tomorrow.
It's my day off. Why did I schedule my car for a brake check at 8am?!?
I'm taking a day off! Monday driving sucks, anyway (last week's Monday was on a Tuesday, thanks to the holiday.) Besides I have to save my strength for blizzard Ubering.
Jim Cantore is definitely headed for Boston. Sorry, NYC, your historic blizzard isn't going to be historic enough.
