Buffy: So how'd she get away with the bad mojo stuff? Anya: Giles sold it to her. Giles: Well, I didn't know it was her. I mean, how could I? If it's any consolation, I may have overcharged her.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Thank you for the birthday wishes, my lovelies!

Do people usually take their birthdays off work? I've asked for Daniel's birthday off, but not my own. Bosslady brought me two cupcakes and a card which made me laugh like a drain. Marie Antoinette on the front saying, "All I said was 'Let's have cake,' or 'Let's eat cake,' or something like that, and suddenly everyone got all pissy!" Inside it said, "Don't party with peasants. They ruin everything." One advantage of doing the menu planning is that I got to plan an amazing meal - which was both delicious and healthy. Shrimp and Grapefruit salad dressed with a Dijon vinaigrette, tossed with Spring Mix; garlic bread; and Cocoa Ricotta for dessert. How can anyone be unhappy with a job that let's them eat like that?

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Does anyone happen to know what "skill in managing program services" might be a euphemism for in a job listing?

I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.

Debet, in the non-profit world, that would be code for managing decreasing resources and increasing service demands - basically finding a way to maintain or expand programs without sufficient funding. It may mean something different in the corporate or academic world.

Social services context? That sounds like any of my supervisors, from individual location managers to regional managers - supervising and training direct care staff, writing reports on the needs and progress of the persons served, coordinating meetings for the interdisciplinary teams of persons served, writing outcomes/objectives/programs for persons served, etc.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I thought it might be something like lcat was saying, as this is a non-supervisory position. So I wrote a bit about determining essential services for a given individual.

Good news about the interview, Strix! Fingers crossed! And the image of you running around naked and dripping and screaming into the phone at your husband while a realtor peeks through the window on the front door just cracks me up!

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Daaaaaily goth check-in from Denmark! I go home tomorrow, which will be good. I've been having a great time here, but I miss that curmudgeon I'm married to, my cats, and the rest of my wardrobe.

My husband (who is Belgian, obviously), eats bread and chocolate for breakfast several times a week. My mind boggles. I just cannot bring myself to embrace such weird foreign behavior. ;)

Our wings are not tired.

This bread and chocolate thing for breakfast could work. Although I have neither in the house. Oatmeal again then.

I really don't want to go to the office, but I have worked at home all week and really should. Sigh.
