I'm glad you can breathe easier, Callaluna.
I could just change my tagline to [mylastname], because I don't think changing my board name to some version of Amy is going to be any less confusing, though there may still be people out there who think amych and I are one person. (Despite it being Buffista conversation topic #189.)
I think of people by their board name. On Facebook I mentally translate those names to board names. ETA if I know them.
I just realized I don't know how to pronounce your name. And I was going to say your "full" name, but actually, either way -- is it actually "minus tee"??
However you like! "Minus" tee is good, or just "tee". Way back when it was "little T" hence the not being capitalized. I think it corresponds to some sort of computer command - I probably wouldn't recognize that to respond to it, but if it was explained to me I would appreciate it. It's all good.
Full name rhymes with camera. Last name just like it's spelled ("scared of" or "scared off" or "scare it off" or "scarred of" are all acceptable. Probably other variants are fine, too). Which reminds me - I've been pretty indiscriminately accepting friend requests and sporadically friending folks out of the "People You May Know" thingy and I came across someone who has my last name that I did not already know! In Cyrillic, which I only learned hand-written rather than whatever font that might be and don't know well regardless, but I'm pretty sure those are the same letters in the same order. That is a weird feeling.
I think of people both ways. But in the hangout chat - that was a lot like Second Life or WoW and I'm conditioned to use screen names in those chats even if I know someone's RL name for privacy reasons.
Obvously that doesn't apply to the Buffistas but it's a thing.
I also realized that some people pronounce my board name differently than I think of it being pronounced. it's my first initial and middle name smushed together so I always think of it as "A sky" whereas others see it as "ask-ee". I know this has come up before and it doesn't bother me, it's just interesting to realize people see things differently.
(I'm not very original when it comes to naming things, even myslf)
I think of people by board names, mostly. And I totally answer to meara, IRL. ;)
I think of people in board names, but at one point I made an effort of figure out what was what with names v. board names, and I think I was at 100% with my FB list. Though there are a couple of new FB friends now that I'm not quite sure of, board-name-wise.
However you like! "Minus" tee is good, or just "tee".
Phew! I generally think of you as "tee," and also rhymes-with-camera when necessary.
I am not interesting enough to have a board name that is not also my non-board name.
Sure, Cowgirl.
Not interesting.
And I trundle along, uncovered and uncaring.
