Oh, I get it. You just don't like who did the rescuing, that's all. Wishin' I was your boyfriend what's-his-height. Oh wait, he's run off.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

From Moji:

Re cards, flowers etc: we'll have a discussion when we get there, but our idea is that that stuff would be great to have for the service, which looks like it'll be in mid-February. In terms of donations, we're thinking that we want to set up a fund of some sort at a school here to encourage girls to go into IT.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Thank you for sharing that, Allyson.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Very cool and worthy.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Thanks, Allyson!

Today at work one of my coworkers made a joke about death that, as it happened, made me laugh all the harder than it would have if no one in my world had died so recently. (I swear it's a family trait. We love and grieve as much as anyone, but we also crack wise at funeral homes while picking out caskets.) I'm so glad they didn't ask me why I was laughing about twice as hard as I normally do over office humor, because then they would've felt bad over the joke...and the whole time I was thinking that I was pretty sure it would've made ita laugh too.

I'm going to need a headcount of LAistas who would like to have brunch with ita's family next Sunday. It'd be on the West side.

Our wings are not tired.

Allyson, the 25th?

So fitting, the scholarship idea. The admins will have to put in an autocorrect to force lowercase i ita, damnit.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Count me in.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Kiba, that's good news! Glad to hear it.

Allyson, thanks for telling us. The scholarship sounds perfect.
