It's msbelle day! Karaoke sounds quite fun for ushering in a new year.

Allyson, when my SIL got the call that her father had died, she was six month's pregnant, and we were all there for Christmas (it was the day after Christmas), and I remember thinking at that time, "If I never see someone scream and cry like that again, it will be too soon." Seriously, bless you for doing that. You won't ever be able to unhear it, so share as you need to. Truly.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I don't know how to start or what to say that won't violate ita's privacy. Or to even appear to make this all about me, or appear to be an attention whore of some kind. I haven't been here in so long.

Is there a way I can save my texts? I have all of these messages I want to keep. The last message I sent was "What's the word?"

But she was already gone for two days. I keep looking at it waiting for an answer. She was supposed to move in with us this month. If she had, she wouldn't have been alone. One of the messages I keep reading from her reads, "I'd be dead without Buffistas and the nurse…humans aren't supposed to roll alone."

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

It has been far too long sine I've seen any Buffistas in person. I need to fix that.

Yes. I did a full download of mine last June to keep messages we got, and it was the one place I'd had notes after every doctor's appointment. There are a bunch of free apps on the web. What kind of phone do you have?

iPhone 4S. Maybe I can ask Kristen to do it. I'm clumsy with tech, and if I lost them I'd break.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Allyson, what type of phone do you have? Most of them, you can copy/paste texts, and there are probably apps that let you grab them.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Allyson no one thinks you are doing anything for attention. If you need to dump things in a less public place to someone new, my email rlboston14 at gmail is open all the time.

Allyson, you are carrying a big burden. We honestly don't mind helping with that load. Share as much as you need.

I may have to seize the cat.

Kiba, that Ph.D sounds awesome. In retrospect, I think I should have been a librarian, but now it seems there are no jobs.
I think it's never too late to start. The job market is rough but I think that's true in a lot of industries. If you want to get a look at the library job market in depth, here's a link. It's not quite as dire as it might seem at first, but it is much easier on people who can move easily.

One of the questions in the interview was, "Why this school?" and after all of the because it's the best, because I love this faculty, because I felt so good about getting my MSLS here answers, I moved on to, "Also, because I already live here."

Allyson, I am so sorry that you have these burdens. And so grateful to you for opening up about them. I hope it lightens the load to be able to share.

Beverly, such a beautiful thing to say to Allyson.
