It sounds like something terrible, but he actually got better pain relief from booze. A slug of rum before bed would help him sleep better than three different kinds of opiates. And apparently that's one of the signs of alcoholism.
After my grandmother had a stroke, her doctor actually recommended a shot of brandy every night to help her sleep.
Good luck Jess!

I'm at work, but I'm mostly staring blindly at the computer. Maybe more caffeine will help.
And yet, MM? It seems like that 10+ years just slipped by when I wasn't looking. Sneaky decade. I have to be gooder to people. Time is getting away.
I'm Tom Krueger on FB. Open to any and all friend requests!

Sad but true.
I am back on the full-caffeine coffee wagon, myself. Fell off the half-caf? Whichever.

Currently wearing my SF2F shirt.
I am so sorry, strix.
Man, this year is fucking up big time
All condolences to Strix, Dan, and family.
And an invitation to all those that have stopped by in the last few days -- please feel free to stay. Or at least stop by more often. I've enjoyed seeing some names that I haven't seen in a while (even if I'm not a particularly prolific poster).
Before I left for work, I had my phone in my hand pretty much constantly, but when I got in the car it wasn't in the pocket where I expected it to be, or my purse, so I figured I'd set it down somewhere and dashed back into the house. Not on the counter, not in my robe pocket, no on the couch, not on the bed. OK, use the Find My Phone app...it's in my pocket. The left one instead of the right one, but still in my jeans. Sigh.
It really is good to see you all.
Everyone try to be easy with yourselves.
