Pix, I hope you get to run your marathon. But soft tissue injuries like that can be a bitch to heal. I still have pain from a relatively minor injury I got rock climbing in 2006. But I didn't take care of that injury in any way. If the doc says don't run... maybe don't run. Take care of yourself, ita would want that too.

Hil, hearing that makes me very thankful I have a doctor who phrases the need for tests as ruling out bad possibilities and giving peace of mind rather than as a consequence or punishment. (Bad patient! No biscuit!)

I called in sick today because I felt exhausted and wrung out, and had a headache that made thinking hurt. I need to go in tomorrow and get some stuff done, but like a lot of people have been saying, this has put perspective on things. I could take the day, so I did.

I need to update the BRQG sometime soon.

I think tomorrow I might be functional, too, but I might have to not be here during the workday to keep it together. I'm noticing that time has gotten slipperier than usual - the last couple of days seem like they have lasted a couple years, but also zipped by in the blink of an eye. Right now it looks like there are just a couple of things that need my attention at work, if that holds I think I'll be able to manage. The party on Friday, I don't know. I might hide in a corner until it's a reasonably polite time for me to leave.

Did he finish the sentence? That he'll start doing blood tests on you...to make sure you have that amount of drug in your bloodstream, because if you don't, then you're selling it instead of taking it.

Except not, because I recently proofread an article about screens for opiates, and -- control your shock -- they're not always accurate.
