I just saw the post in Beep Me and I'm stunned with disbelief. ita was such a vital member of this community, it's hard to even consider it existing without her. My heart goes out to her family, meatspace and virtual.

I've been away from my desk all day and just learned about this from Dana on LJ. I don't even know what to say. Life can be so monumentally unfair and nonsensical. I never got to meet her, but she was such a bright star and this place is... I am having a hard time imagining this place without her, honestly. Christ.

Allyson, thank you so much for your post. I can't even fathom how hard it would have been to be in your (and Kristen's and Polagra's) shoes. LAistas, please let us know if there is anything we can do from afar to help during the coming week and beyond.
