A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I woke up early, am coffee'd, and getting ready for a full day of freelance work, then the gym this evening.

Oh, and a phone call to get some shit straightened out -- I've made one call and one in-store visit, and I never heard back from them, and it's been 4 weeks. I'm not going to be nice.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

So I may be re-confirming that oatmeal does not work for me as breakfast, since I'm already starting to think about lunch, and it's not even 11!

information libertarian

The (excellent, nationally ranked) magnet high school in our fair city starts in 7th grade. (They do keep 7th and 8th grades a little apart in their own wing.) She's shadowing on Thursday, and registration is next week.

I also recently had The Talk that every mother has to have with her growing daughter at some point. No, not THAT talk ... the Leggings Are Not Pants talk.

Punishingly Intricate

My oatmeal usually works for me but not today! And mine was all tricked out with ground flax, chia seed/pom juice mix, and an apple.

brillig

It is raining like crazy out there. I dread to think of what this would look like if it was snow.

The mutant zombie chickens that are the result of the last 6-9 months of fuckeduppedness are coming home to roost.

And I'm fine with this because I've been telling people all along that they were coming, and they just wouldn't listen.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I had a feeling I would need extra food today, so I basically had two breakfasts at once. So far so good.

Also, made French press coffee at my desk so it could be half decaf Peet's Holiday Something, half TJ's Wintry Blend. Not bad.

OK, that makes a little more sense, at least.

My real lunch problem is a noon meeting. So do I eat at 11:30, or hold out? I'm guessing the noon meeting will be short, but we'll see.

Sigh. I somehow managed to leave all my notes from big meeting last week and my meds at home today. This'll be interesting.

Didn't you just say you were already hungry, Jesse? Eat now.
