Beautiful Buffistas all! And so, so good to see Nutty there amidst them all.
And, oh, Strix, so sorry about your kittygirl.
Quiet NYE morning here, doing some mending before sneaking in to one of the student lounges at work to do some editing. Matilda and her best friend are in the living room working on a portmanteau'd Playmobil world of circus/jail/stable/Native American village with monkey back-up (I don't even know) and trading quotes from
Elf
and
GOTG.
And Hec just started up the GOTG soundtrack from the nerdhole, and the second round of coffee is in the works.
Update from Circus Jail Village World: "The purple elephant is a very kind elephant." "SIGN THE PAPERS!"
I am pretty annoyed that not only do I have to be at work today, I am apparently expected to actually do work.

Me too. My work is challenging today, which I almost always prefer, but today I don't feel like braining.
Me, too. But I'm editing a fairly interesting article, so it's not bad. (Although I slept horribly last night, and if I want to make it to midnight tonight, I need to nap hard later. And I am NOT good at napping. Bleh.)
I am at work, but I came in late because of a PT appointment, and now the rumor is that they may let us go at 3:00.
I still have nothing much to do to fill the time though.
So bored. No one here to send me home early.
I've managed to work at least two hours on every day of my vacation except Christmas (and including today, of course)

My boss is in some meeting about taxes. if he doesn't come back by the time I get back from lunch I'll text him to see if I can go home. Sue, I can ask him if you can go home too if you want.

My boss assigned me this week's articles, which can normally be returned the following Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (though ideally they want them back as early as possible). But she said "Please start them immediately, because next week is my last week before vacation." And I get what she's saying -- she only has next week to wrap stuff up, but, seriously, your vacation is not my problem. But I want to help out, so I'm doing what I can, even though I have a deadline for my other client, too, which means I'll be working all weekend and then have nothing to do next week. Which would be okay, except for the part where I'd like to enjoy the weekend with my husband.
