I'll just jump in my time machine, go back to the twelfth century, and ask the vampires to postpone their ancient prophesy for a few days while you take in dinner and a show.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Bummer, Sheryl.

My prize was a set of mini-springform pans, which I already have but maybe in a different brand and I can totally make use of more. Single-serving cheesecakes are a major part of my diet.

And now I am home, have my candles lit and a glass of wine. Hooray weekend!

Question: If I wanted to get my sister a pair of sunglasses, and I wanted to spend about $100, and I wanted to go to a store to see them in person, where would I go?

I still have a 101+ fever and my lungs are wheezy. The closest Kaiser urgent care is at the same exit as a mall. I suspect that spending three hours to see a doctor would cancel out whatever benefit I might get. I'd like to talk to the oncology nurse line about it. You get to the oncology nurse line by calling the oncology department and then pressing a number. However, calling the oncology number gets a recording that says "the behavioral health department is closed." This has happened before.

I'm supposed to have a transfusion tomorrow to make sure I have enough red blood cells to go to Nashville, but I don't think I can do that with this fever. I don't know what I should be doing, and I cannot brane with a fever.

Ginger, can you go to the next-closes Kaiser urgent care? Or if you go to get a transfusion, will there be someone there who can take a look at you and get you help, or will they just be like 'oh, you're sick, go somewhere else this is not our department"?

Oh, crap, Ginger. Is the transfusion part of the treatment, or a booster for a trip?

Can you call a more general nurse/help line, Ginger? Maybe they can get you to the oncology nurse without going through the oncology number?

{totally what came to my mind, msbelle}

Talked to my mom and she has picked up whatever bug is going around. I am not, of course, happy that my mother is sick but I am a little relieved that the one thing I had on my plate for tomorrow (meeting up for my folks for get exchange etc.) is cancelled. I am still going to try to get to the post office or UPS store and ship of my siblings' packages, but that is not as big a deal.

The other two urgent care facilities are 25 and 32 miles away.

Tom, I really like Warby Parker. There are three locations, I think, in New York: Greene Street between Prince and Houston, Lexington at 82nd and 819 Washington Street. Their sunglasses are, I think, $95 for regular sunglasses and $150 for single vision.
