I was afraid I was going hurt myself leaping up on to my chair when I had it raised
That has been an issue, I've had to have the chair backed against hte desk to be sure I'd be able to sit down without it slipping out.

Finally got my flu shot (in my defense, I am lazy about getting stuff done BUT I work from home and am not super social, so my minimal exposure to other people was my excuse for being too lazy to go to the CVS and get jabbed). And damn, my arm hurts now.
But I've been arguing all over FB about the importance of herd immunity and debunking the ridiculous idea that vaccines are a cash cow for the manufacturers, so I realized that I needed to put my immune system where my mouth is.
Also, my mom kept bugging me about it, and people in the area have already died from the flu, so this gets her off my back. But mostly, herd immunity. Moo.
Moo too.
Chiming in late, as usual ... but someone (Beverly?) asked about putting butterscotch chips in oatmeal cookies. The answer, from my experience, is YES. I had a great recipe for oatmeal cookies but my sister hated raisins (it called for raisins and nuts). So I tried butterscotch chips instead of raisins (left the nuts in - pecans in this case) and she was good with that.
And - since I'd prefer to keep the noms separate - mumps have made a comeback. (Reminded by the post about flu shots.)
Our family usually manages to vaccinate only 3 out of 4 members, so no judging from my corner.
mumps have made a comeback.
Raaaaaaaaaage. And that reminds me I am massively overdue for a Tdap booster.
t edit Huh. I didn't realize the CDC recommends the shingles vaccine only for people over 60. I don't want to get shingles, dang it!
Eee! Eee! I've been idly trying to scam--I mean, strategize--my way into a trip to the Caribbean this winter, and it might actually happen!
If you find the turducken boring ....
Okay, I now have birthday cards and gift cards for the other January babies in my family (it's me and my in-laws, basically), because the other night my mom announced that we'd be celebrating those birthdays the Saturday after Christmas.
They are getting gift cards because I'm already uncertain how I'm going to fit all the Christmas presents in my suitcase.
I'm trying really hard not to be miffed that my name has been left off the "full list" of volunteers at the event I was helping with on Friday. I didn't do it for the kudos, but now I kinda feel like I'm invisible. Does that make sense?
