No studying? Damn! Next thing they'll tell me is I'll have to eat jelly doughnuts or sleep with a supermodel to get things done around here. I ask you, how much can one man give?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Oh, I'm sorry, Sue. Good-bye, sweet Clio.

I leave for my trip on Tuesday. I have more stuff to do before then than I can possibly get done, and am I doing any of it? No, I'm procrastinating and whining. I don't want to clean the house for the petsitter. I don't want to wrap presents. I don't want to pack. I don't want to box up a million books and haul a million boxes to charity. I don't want to edit six papers. I want to watch tv and eat Doritos and pretend it will be Saturday for another week.

sigh Okay, fine, I'll go be grown-up now.

You have to remember that being a 5-time Olympic medalist means Hilary Knight has been playing hockey at an elite level at least 16 years. It's impossible for her to be a teenage girl less than 16 years old, thus the President's complete lack of interest.

Sorry about Clio, Sue.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Oh, Sue. I am so sorry.

hip deep in pie

Thanks everyone. I'm still gutted, but the kind words do help.

The library is beautiful. There's two cafes, a roof deck, a performance/lecture space, gaming space on the kids floor, a recording studio. They've truly got that idea of the library as a community/third space. And for the opening, they handed out 300 pairs of scissors, so that everyone could cut the ribbon to open it, since it was the city's library.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That sounds great.

OK, I'm going to try to run errands but I think I will start with lunch because I am very hungry and nothing I have here appeals. Lunch, errands, walking the dog. That's the plan. Sorry dog, I know you would like to change up that order.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I've been trying to get back out for a couple of hours, but just looked and saw that one of the stores I was going to go to is closed! So I guess that'll wait until tomorrow. Which means I should do some work-work now, but nope.

Well, Walter was super persuasive so we walked first. After that, my plan was to go to Cost Plus and each lunch at one of the nearby restaurants before shopping, but the location near me has shut down, so I drove to the next nearest location and asked Waze what restaurants were nearby so I am only now getting lunch BUT it is going to be some kind of Thai deep-fried duck which, how can that not be delicious? Actually getting me shopping done is not looking a sure thing, but maybe that outlook will improve once I have some food in me.
